Please excuse my forum crashing, but I have a question...

I want to get a doppler (not sure if I want to rent or buy). Could you girls please give me some advise on what you think the best ones are and when is the best time to use them from. I was thinking of getting it once I have been paid (I'll be 13w2d by then)

Thanks in advance!

i didn't hear heart beat with Doppler until 18 weeks. and i tried every week for ages! For some people it is reassuring but for others it is a stressful when they cant hear the heart beat! So if you do get one remember you might not hear the heartbeat at that stage xxx

I hired the hibebe BT200 from Hi-Baby for a couple of months... from about 12 weeks till about 20/21 weeks (trying to remember when I sent it back ) It was great for that early time, easy to use, and while I didn't always find the heartbeat, that wasn't the doppler, that was baby hiding . The handheld / longer probe means it's easier to angle round / move to find baby.

Now that my uterus is a bit higher up, and LO is a bit bigger, I find the Angel Sounds I got on Ebay for £20 to be absolutely fine. It's got 2 headphone jacks (so DH can still listen in with me), and it's just as clear as the HiBebe. I found that because it was all one unit, and the "probe" bit is quite shallow, that it could be hard to dig/angle enough in the earlier days to find the HB reliably - especially with my extra padding on my tummy hehe.

Just thought I'd mention the hiring option, as it's worked out cheaper for me. £40 all in, having the "professional" doppler for a couple of months when the HB can be harder to find, and then the AngelSounds for from now on, which is cheaper to buy.

Good luck finding one that suits you

I bought the Angelsounds Jumper from Ebay for about £20 when I was 14 weeks, and have heard the heartbeat clearly every time. I love it and would definitely recommend it
