size of bumps

For curiousity's sake, if you happen to be a "late bloomer" with your bump, does that mean your bump will end up being smaller by the end of the pregnancy, or are there just too many other factors involved? Just wondering, as someone at work said that since I wasn't really showing yet that I would be small at the end--but then isn't everyone HUGE by 40 weeks!?!

Nope makes no difference. Sometimes they just appear over night and often they will just not grow for ages. I was massive with my first at 20weeks, but not a lot happened after, everyone was like my god you will be massive, never really changed much, i did get rather large just in the last few weeks though.

It will defo be down to fate, you may stay small you may not.

I was a late bloomer with my 1st but i put that down to the stomach muscles still being strong so you show later, I remained with a small bump and i lost alot of weight during my preg, my son was born 7lb 4oz despite the 5lb i was warned for.
I know other people who blossomed later but yet ballooned at the end, as this is when your baby starts to gain all the weight needed so you could put it all on at the end , Or you may keep a small bump. This is now my 2nd preg & i'm already at the fat frumpy pogdy stage lol So no doub't i'll look huge in no time haha

I dont think it really matters if you are a late bloomer! Me and my SIL are due on the same day and up until a few weeks ago, I had no bump and she had quite a noticable one...but now I have overtaken am definitely the bigger out the two of us! So I dont really think it makes a difference when u start to show!! xxx

Thanks for the replies. So pretty much I'll have no idea! Just as long as I don't gain 50lbs like my Mom did with me...hmmm, but that might happen too I guess HAHA
