Anyone having 20 weeks scan early?

Ive had an appointment for 20 week scan for 26th may and i will be 19+1 will they be able to scan properly and do a proper check on the baby? This is my 1st appointment at this hospital as transferred from somewhere else so will get to see the consultant and have an action plan finally put into place.

With mine they decided to wait till 22 weeks rather than do it at 19+4 as the consultant radiographer is on holiday when I'm 20 weeks, they said they thought it would not be clear enough before 20 weeks to do all the checks.

Im wondering if they will have me in again then as im supposed to be scanned every 2 weeks anyway due to high risk pregnancy i suppose i will have to wait and see. xx

I would have thought it would be clear enough, as in our hospital, its offered between 18-20 weeks. We seem to be having a bit of a baby boom up here, so we've all had to wait for our scans. I had one at 20+1 and another one yesterday as she was in an awkward position.
If you're going every 2 though, they will have more than enough chances to check everything over that they need to, and will get you in again if they need to. I am sure it will be fine chick x

You should be fine! Mine will be 18 + 5 ...we can get them at 18 weeks here in US but that's as early as I could get in the schedule. I'm glad it's a little later for accuracy--though I HATE waiting. My scan is set on my birthday.

I have my scan at 18wks 4days due to be gaining diabetes during pregnancy, they want to check that baby is developing properly. I also have an appointment for my 20wk scan on 8th June, when i asked if i would still have this appointment, they said if they can check everything in the 18wk scan then would probably not have this scan.

I have my scan on 22nd May - am excited but frightened also.

20 weeks is just an average as this scan can be done between week 18-22. I'll be 20+6 when I get mine.

I'm having mine done at 19+something too...

I've no concerns about having it done at this time. DS was done at the 20 weeks mark and we still had to go back as they couldn't see everything they needed too due to how he was laid. At least if you've to go back you get to see babe again...

As craftymum said, the guidelines say between 18-22 weeks, so 19 weeks is fine. Mine is exactly on 20 weeks tho lol!
Baby is pretty much fully formed by 18 weeks I think, just growing in size and getting fatter, so they should be able to see what they need to check. xx
