Question

Overweight and fetal movement

Just curious. What is the latest you have heard of someone feeling the baby move for the first time? I'm 19 weeks by Ultrasound, 20 weeks by Last AF. Still have felt no movement, which I read is normal when its your first and your over weight. Sometimes I think I feel her or him move...then a few mintues later..GAS lol. So I was just wondering whats the latest you have heard of someone feeling movement. My Mom thinks Ive probaly already felt it just havent figured it out, but I dont think so.

I'm a larger girl and I felt movement around 17 weeks I think, but it was more like butterflies and bubbles in my belly. Sometimes it almost feels as though theres a minnow squirming around in there. I have read online also that it may take longer for larger women, especially for their first. But even fit women sometimes don't feel any movement until their 20th week. It's harder for us to judge was "movement" is because we've never experienced it before-- this being our first baby and all. I'm sure you've felt it before, you just don't know it. Movements feel different for everyone.

p.s: In a fit of desperation the other day, I tried to put a flashlight on my abdomen because babies tend to move away from the light. I wanted to feel some kicks or movements because it had been a little while since I had... but I think I have too many layers of chubb between the flashlight and the baby don't think the light quite made it

LOL I'd try that to but I also think I have to many layers. I have had my husband and step daughters put thier ear to my tummy and they can hear her or him moving but I can't feel it! I have a doctors appointment, Im going to ask whats the latest they have seen.

32 weeks and she didn't know!!! WOW, I suppose she didn't have a missed period? Hmm as for movements, I have heard people feeling them much later, like at 24 weeks or so. VanWest you prob do have a few strong movements but have not recognised them yet. It won't be too much longer hun until you're sure of it.

I bet you've felt the baby move but didn't realize it. I'm a bit overweight and with my first I didn't "feel" anything until I was around 20 weeks but I'm sure I did before then, just didn't realize it was the baby lol. This time around it was around 15ish weeks but I knew what to feel for. I bet any day now your going to feel those little tickles and kicks.

i dont think they're sensitive to the light just yet--- think thats more like 26 weeks when their eyes open--- try putting ur hand to ur belly for a lil while and see if he/she kicks it even a very tiny nudge is considered movement---
