For those of you who have read my gripes elsewhere about not having a booking appointment until 14 weeks ....

Finally met the community midwife this morning! Well, not my community it turns out - my midwife is away, so I had the neighbour .... She was very nice, I want to keep her!

I've lost a little weight since conception (the only time I've weighed myself recently), which put my BMI at just 30 - which means I can be under midwife-led care rather than the consultants The only difference it'll make (she reckoned) is that they'll insist I get up and start walking very soon after the birth, to lessen the risk of any bloodclots.

Urine tested okay; blood ("almost an armful") has gone away for testing. More blood being taken in two weeks for the Triple test.

Finally she told me what I should and shouldn't eat, I didn't have the heart to tell her about the salami a few weeks ago

Other than being kept waiting for 15 mins for the appointment (I was first in - they arrived late!), I'm impressed so far. And we had a laugh about how I'll be giving birth in a brand new hospital with all mod cons - though I'm not sure they took my request for private facilities, in-room jacuzzi, wifi connectivity and room service all that seriously

Glad it all went well hun! Don't worry about the salami, I ate loads of cured meats before reading that I shouldn't!!!

Girl, I had salami for lunch yesterday.
Not eating tons, just not totally depriving. No one here even mentions anything about it.
Just a very small list of things to try to avoid.
