Argument about circumcision

My family and some other ppl got into this big argument about circumcision lmao
My boy has it and it was not painful because they gave him a local anesthetic...
they were arguing that I did it because of my culture and bc most ppl do it...

Bul...l I researched and I decided to do it even if it is not medically necessary. There are little benefits by doing it. But doctors agree that these benefits alone are not significant reasons to have circumcision.
UTI are uncommon but happen less often in circumcised boys and circumcised males are a little less likely to get an STD. And those benefits are good enough for me...I would only agree to it if local anesthetics are used...since many docs dont use it...
I gave a bubble bath to my nephew which gave him a UTI and he had a painful and bloody penis for 2 days he was not circumcised...so if this one is a boy he will def get circumcised.

A painful and bloody penis for 2 days sounds better then a painful and bloody penis for 6 weeks, which is the time it takes for the sugical wound to heal properly.

If a doctor told you that this procedure isn't painful he must have ment while you're doing the actual cutting. It is painful afterwards when you wake up from the anesthecia, just ask any person who has done it when he was older.

There is another thread on this subject who got closed cause freedom of speach doesnt apply to this forum for some reason. You might wanna take a look there.

For real...my son is circumcised simply because my husband and I wanted him to be and nothing anyone else says can convince me that it was the wrong thing to do. Don't go judging others for not doing what YOU plan to do...that's just petty and wrong.

However, to correct your mistakes...circumcision does NOT take 6 weeks to heal in a baby, it takes 7-10 days. Also, of course it hurts more when you're older...it's been attached all your life when you're older. You also state that freedom of speech doesn't exsist on this forum...from the forcefulness of your post, you don't believe freedom of choice should exist here either.

Maybe this thread should be closed as well.

Amazing how people manage to put words in my mouth. I havent even stated my opinion towards the subject.

Read it again.

Fine even if my facts were off, i was commenting on the logic to accept pain for 7-10 days to avvoid pain for 2 days.

can't get away from this fast enough...sounds like it might get heated around here!

I do think everyone is entitled to an opinion.

TBH, doctors disagree all the time, so why not us normal folks when it comes to agreeing or disagreeing with doctor's opinions?

That was why i tried to remain neutral and just refer to the other thread, as people are unable to discuss this properly.

ummm, surely it depends on whether or not they have unprotected sex and the person they're sleeping with has an STD?? not that they have less of a chance because they've been circumcised

i think a lot of it is to do with culture, i've only been with one bloke who's been circumcised and found it weird, whereas i remember on Sex and the City once (i know, very cultural and so easy to reference! lol) they were saying that non-circumcised men were strange!

if my little wriggle worm has a wriggly worm then it'll be keeping it's foreskin, but i don't see why it should be taken off, i understand that it's part of the Jewish faith and the American culture, but i'm neither Jewish or American

if for medical reasons it's needed then yeah any boy of mine would have it done, but only purely for that reason and not for cosmetic/asthetic or cultural reasons although i understand why it is done and i respect people who wish to make little boys feel pain (we give birth, they should have some aspect of pain too! lol, but maybe not until they're older and can appreciate the pain that comes with using that particular apendage )
