Spoiled for choice!

Does anyone know of a definitive list of how much stuff you need to start off with? People are going to be buying us a lot of things but I know that we will need to add things to it and fill in any gaps. I'm starting to look on ebay but I have no idea what to buy and how many of each thing. I don't want to buy too much as money is tight but I don't want to leave everything til bubs is here either.

Does anyone have a list I can borrow of essentials etc? I'm thinking basic clothes, bedding, toiletries, stuff like that.

Many thanks

Aimee

I am not going to be much help here, haven't bought a stitch. I know there was a really good thread up about this a few weeks back where a lot of people were adding stuff onto a nice list. I just can't remember what the title was

The only 1 I could find that actually spelled out that you need 6 of this and 3 of this! Also, it's not a stupidly long list.....may actually stand a chance of affording all of this stuff!!

Why yes, they decided to be specific, at least!
If you get all those things, I imagine your baby will survive its first week at home

You never know...i'm sure if the shops had their way you'd be branded a bad mother for spending less than a grand on bedding!

Thanks for the responses....I think because I'm just starting I am getting a bit overwhelmed. I think if I just get one thing at a time I'm sure I'll quickly end up with a houseful! Just hope I don't get too many duplicates!

I've done a gift list on mothercare of things which we need/would like but I'm not expecting a lot of gifts tbh as family are just as hard up as we are. Was just thinking of getting 1 or two things as and when and if they are on the list then delete them. Hopefully this will stop potential problems. I always worry a little too much about stuff like this though....have found some bargains on ebay though so hopefully can start to feel a little more in control!
