anyone else use a fetal doppler?

i have just gotten my fetal doppler in the mail a week ago and love it. i am just wondering if anyone else uses one and how often are they safe to use? i just realized that i love mine so much that i have been using it once or twice a day for about 15 minutes each time...is that way too much? i am sure the novelty will wear off. it takes me a little while each time to figure out wether i am hearing both babies...it would be much easier if i only had one in there!

Heya, im sure there will be people that will tell you thats too much, theres too much coinflicting info being thrown about!

I used to use mine between 13-19 weeks maybe a couple of times a week just to check in. Now he's moving about i dont feel the need to but would like to record his hiccups before he arrives!

I must admit tho i've neva had a prob findin HB so only have it on for bout 5 mins max (not that it makes ne diff??) But now i'm feeling alot more movements I only stick it on now n again for my lil boy to hear or if i'm bored...dont feel many movements etc... Dont worry hun and as u have twins i'm sure u'll be feeling those movements alot more pretty soon lol!! Take care best of luck!! Tracy xxxxx

I have one and use it twice to three times a week. They say not to use it too often as it can generate heat necuase it's a small beam of ultrasound but 15 mins for two babies sound fine! Isn't it great!

I use mine every night before bed to check in on bubs. I can't really feel her moving very much (I suspect my placenta may be in the way) so it's important to my sanity to know she's fine every night. I think as long as you're not using it for hours at a time, you're fine.

Hi There

I got instructions with mine that said it was safe to use daily but only for 10-15 minutes if you are using a mike to speak to them or play music but if your just listening its fine. Im dying to hear my lil ones heart beat, i still cant find it! maybe just to early! I can here it moving and kicking though so i know its okay! xx

I use mine once a week. It takes me a bit to still find the HB because for some reason the baby is in back (I will be 20 weeks monday) but I know I am hearing it because it's never in the same place .

I only just mine once a week cos DH is paranoid that it's not good for it, and I find it takes ages to find the hb that I start to worry even though I'm now feeling movement. It is good to hear the hb though!

i think something was mentioned in something I was reading about the type of doppler you're using - if its one of those ones like angelsounds i hear its fine but the more technical ones should be used less??? i dunno, but i'm same as you, i have already had a go twice today, it comforts me, this morning I had hassle trying to find beanie but just now it wasnt a problem. Maybe he/she was hiding away and sleeping, but he/she seems to have moved a bit more in a day than usual.
