Sure its been asked before.....


but can anyone help me? I'm looking for a list of "things" needed for your baby.

Like a kind of checklist so we can ick things off as we've got them

if u go on mothercare site and order a catolog u get a great list at the bk of it xx

we made our own list up - but as honey08 said mothercare have one in the back of there book

As last 2 guys have said Mothercare have a brill one in their catalouge might have it on web site as well

Here are a few things, some copied off the internet and ALOT from me!

Hospital bag:
- IC & Doctor admission letter
- Pajamas gown
- Undergarments (disposable panties)
- Nursing bras + breasts pad (non-adhesive)
- Maternity pads
- Slippers
- Socks
- Face & bath towels
- Toiletries : Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, shampoo, facial cleanser, moisturizer etc
- Cosmetic Bag
- Books + magazines
- Fully-charged handphone
- Camera + Video camera
- Your go back home clothes
- 2 baby vests
- 2 pairs of baby mittens + booties
- 2 wrapping blankets

Baby
1 Chest of drawer for baby's stuff
4 sets of top and bottoms with front tie opening or buttons
3 sets of mittens and bootees
6 pairs of socks (cheaper as they come in set of 6)
2 cotton hats (1 small and 1 bigger in size)
4 baby T-shirts for home wear
1 dozen face towels for bath and feeding usage
2 baby bath towels
2 baby swaddling towel
Baby sling
Baby changing Mat
Baby Cot
Travel Cot
Baby playpen (for nannies house)
2 Cot mattress cover (for interchanging)
Baby powder and dispenser, head to toe shampoo and baby body lotion
(Do not use those dispenser with the puff put into the powder directly... very unhygenic, pay a bit more to get a one with separator)
Kodomo Baby Laundry detergent
Drying rack for baby's clothes
Nappy rash barrier cream (Sudocream - Or you can always use vaseline)
Cotton balls for cleaning baby
Wet tissues for travel and home use (baby wipes)
Ear Thermometer and extra batteries
Nail cutters
1 packet of newborn nappies
2 small milk avent milk bottles
2 spare teats (as you need to change them after 2 months of usage)
6 avent milk storage cups with lids (for storing Milk powder)
4 Bottle drying rack
Baby playmat of 12mm thickness
Pram (Travel system)
Car seat
Bean sprout pillow
Baby mobile that plays music
Baby Lullably CD (stimulate baby brain and make baby sleep longer)
Baby cotton ear buds (will not use till really need to)
Safety 1st bathtub
Bottle brush with teats brush
Night light with dimmer for night nursing and diaper changing purposes.

Mother
2 Nursing bras
1 large pack of maternity sanitary pads
2 nursing tops
1 Avent ISIS Manual breast pump
Moms essential breast balm for cracked nipples
Moms essential bottom spray for Epi wound
Moms essential after delivery body foam and shampoo
1 large pack of 2 in 1 red dates drink mix
1 set of pyjamas button down for hospital wear

Hope this helps, I may have missed things off but at the minute I can't really think haha!

(YES I have ALOT of time on my hands!

god, when you put it all down on 'paper' like that it sure looks a lot. So how much do you recon the average (tescos/mothercare not channel gucci) baby costs before its born...?

Babies r us also has a great check list too. It is an expensive business, we spread the cost out from 8 weeks. I hate to think how much we have spent but our little man is worth every penny, take care XX

OMG this thread has scared me, all I have so far is a pram (should be delivering tomorrow) and a steam steriliser I think I need to get buying!!!!
