The pregnant lady, her baby and a fever :(

So I came home from work yesterday feeling like poop...
And than this morning I wake up every hour from 2am to 5am... than I start getting sick. I know I have a fever -- I have no real way of checking my temperature since we dont have thermometer, but I know its not TOO bad, since usually you can feel it. I havent gotten sick since almost 6am and its now 8:30. Been trying to stay cool -- OH is all bundled in the blankets while Im shivering my ass off in front of the open window, trying to drink juice.

If it persists, I do plan on going to the hospital.

I was just wondering, is Extra Strength Tylenol okay for me to take?

I dont feel too hot right now, my skin is pretty cool, except Im sweating my ass off.

The most likely cause of all this is I got it from work -- 3 people at work have all shared this bug, and now Im pretty certain Ive got it.

Im 15 weeks 6 days today (or 14w 4d based on my dates, except at my first scan I got bumped up a week and 2 days).

Any advice would be appreciated.

personally i would say no to taking the medicine. if the doctor or hospital hasnt said you can i wouldnt just to be safe.
id go get yourself checked just to be sure.

My doctor told me to take extra strength tylenol if I were sick or had a headache or whatever. Extra strength tylenol is 500 mg and he told me I could take 2 pills every 4 hours if I needed, as long as I didn't exceed 8 pills a day.

But since you've already gotten conflicting advice, I'd just call the doctor's office and talk to a nurse or the doctor.

Going to give the doctor a ring soon and see what they say...

Tylenol is safe to take in pregnancy. I would try taking one extra strength first to see if it helps before you take two.

Hi hun, I'd also call the dr. Better safe than sorry. But I do know that tylenol is safe to take during pregnancy. Take care, rest up and get well soon. Try to start getting vitamin C down u as well. It will help your immune system kick this sooner. Feel better hun!

You should ALWAYS take tylenol (paracettamol to me) if you have a fever. High core temperature can be very serius if it's very high or it maintains over a few days.

Tylenol is safe to take during pregnancy (at the normal dose as stated on the pack).

Have a look at the mc forum for a thread about fevers and the risks to baby.

You should call your doctor anyway about the vomiting.
