Booked my anti natal classes...

I booked my classes a few days ago.. they start on 1st April!

I have booked evening appointments so that OH can come along, not that he wants too...! He said why do you need to go to them, you know what you want and have seen births on 'you tube'. MEN! He also told his nephew that he is being made to go...Argh!
I just don't want to get there on the day I go into labour and 'think' I know what to expect. I want to be totally prepared. I want to know everything and if he is there with me, he needs to know what I want too so that he can help me when I need him. He says he wants to help me on the day but is really negative about the classes and it really 'p's' me off!

Am I too demanding... am I expecting too much off him. I don't want him at the birth patting me on the back saying 'your doing well love, keep going. I'll be back in a bit after I've had a fag...!' I think I might punch him...
I want him to remind me of different things to try, him offering to rub my back etc. Maybe I am 'too' hormonal at the moment and am blowing this out of proportion because I know he is as excited as me about our daughters birth. We both can't wait for her to get here safe and well.

Sorry girl's, this thread turned into a bit of a rant...your thoughts would be appreciated.

Tara

I think it's perfectly reasonable for you to want OH to learn how to support you. He may complain about the classes now, but afterwards he'll be grateful!

Mine will be coming. I guess I need to book mine. Thinking about taking them in May myself. Here they offer bf'ing classes for no charge so will take advantage of those as well.

I'm going to be signing up for classes soon. And DH better damn well be coming with me!! lol.... I'm sure he will.

You're not being demanding. I'm sure he thinks that now, but afterwords, I bet he'll be glad he went. I'm sure it's not ALL going to be about pushing out a baby. You both will learn lots, and little tricks that neither of you knew about!

Oh, and the part about him going out for a cigarette when you're in labor, if my DH does that, he has no idea what's going to hit him!!!
