Is it normal to stop feeling like the bump is growing?

Hi,

I'm nearly 19 weeks and for the last few weeks i have felt that i am filling my clothes and my seat belt feels tight on my belly. My bump is quite small (but not abnormal). When i went jogging it was a bit painful and i felt the need to wee for pretty much the whole time. This week it doesn't feel full anymore and when i am jogging i don't feel the need to wee half as much.

I'm hoping someone will say that it might just have been water retention and i have nothing to worry about.

I haven't felt the baby yet but that doesn't worry me as i've heard that it should be in the next few weeks. It isn't as if i have felt it and it has now stopped.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

The baby moves about alot early on so bumps change shape, sometiems you get banging on the bladder then they move and that stops and you panic cos its changing!
I think bumps grow in spurts too, and yeh probably some water retention makes a difference as does your bowels. Some weeks I think I've shrunk, probably best to take a photo cos I think we also get used to being bigger it doesnt feel so big anymore.

Thanks for you replies. It helps to put my mind at rest.

I thought that i would add that i bought a £30 doppler device and both my husband and I were able to here its heart beat. I'd recommend it to anyone who justs wants some piece of mind. I must add that i don't think that they work for everyone. My midwife had pointed out that you might find it more stressful if you can't find the heartbeat.

Thanks again.
