Ovulation and Gender

I've read that if conception is closer to ovulation date, you're more likely to have a boy, and if a few days before a girl. Apparently female sperm survives longer and since the male ones are better swimmers if close to ovulation they'll win the race.

Well, according to my scan dates I got pregnant on the 9th November, well...as the last time we had sex before that was on the 5th.....4 days appart, it must be a girl, right????

Does anyone else know their dates? Is this method accurate?

Not sure on the 4 days thing hun , I had sex and my scans put me at 4 days after we had sex !!! .
When i asked and was confused i was told that maybe the sperm took longer or the egg didnt fertilise straight away , Confused the heck out of me lol .

Either way hun Were having a boy and it falls the day before O i think but im not 100% sure as i wasnt tracking or plannng so didnt work for me , Bt like i i said im not sure when i O exactly as i wasnt trying lol .

Good luck . xx .

That theory is definitely true. Female sperm tends to live longer and male sperm tends to be faster. So if you were trying for a boy you would try around or on ovulation and for a girl a couple of days before. Although it is not sure fire, you can still have a girl around ovulation.

They reckon I was pregnant before I even ovulated !! and I'm having a girl, so by my reckoning this theory is true but nto 100% reliable.
