Employers aren't allowed to treat you any different because you are pregnant. What difference to your job does it make what size you are?! It is amazing the amount of employers who change their attitude towards pregnant women even in this day and age. Keep a diary of events, just in case things turn serious regarding your maternity entitlements, as your pregnancy progresses. Good luck and don't let him stress you out, he's not worth it xx

I'm not sure what you should do next but i think keeping a diary of these things would be a good start. At least if it does get worse you could tell him you've kept a log and will be seeking advise from solicitor/citizens advise, maybe that'd be the wake up call he needs to stop being such a pigheaded caveman.

Chin up,
xxx

Hey huni. When I got my bounty pack from the midwife it contained a useful leaflet from the Department for Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform on Pregnancy & Work. It contains a a section to give to your employer on the rights of both pregnant employees and their employers and their responsibilities towards each other. I would try and get your hands on this and hand it over. If you don't feel comfortable you could always say that your midwife asked you to hand it over.

Like Joeyjo has said, this will also act as evidence that your employee was aware of your rights and also backs up that there is no justification for the crap way he is treating you.

Hope he gets his act together soon huni.

Hi there,

Just wanted to say that your boss is a complete arse for treating you like that. But unfortunately, some male bosses are just like that. I have one who tried to be a smart arse with me. Until I started dropping in conversations that I know some employment law solicitors who are good friends etc etc. I've also mentioned to him that 'by law' I am owed certain things like maternity pay, holidays etc etc. He will think twice before saying anything now. Or else, I will take great pleasure in suing him. I'm hormonal and ratty and just need an excuse to take it out on someone and he seems like the ideal candidate! Sorry for the rant but I hate it when bosses do this. grrrr...

Hope today has gone well for you.

Aww hun, Im so sorry he is being like this with you but he can't get away will it. Keep a log on what goes on and if things get worse go to CAB to get help and advice, he needs to know he can't get away with it and you aren't going to roll over and take it. I really hope today goes okay. Take care XX
