hello everyone was wondering if someone could help, basically this month i had a dud batch of opks, so i had a whiz at temping, according to FF i ov'd on cd 10 im now 10dpo and feeling very sick, achy and tired, feel like im floating when im walking i feel dizzy and like i need to sit down again, and cant stop sleeping, i did a hpt this morning but it was but also from the dud batch of opks, i did a random opk today and got this, what you think?? im i just feeling sorry for myself and sleeping because im lazy lmao! according to FF possible start of period is the next four days

Hey hunny,

I definately see a postive OPK but ive heard you cant rely on them. U know it'll be absolute torcher but try to hold on until AF is due, because then you'll have a rough idea. did u use an early response HPT?

hi hun i don't intend to use it as a hpt, im just confused as to why i have a pos opk now :S confused.com lol but FF has forecasted my period for the next four days could start, so i dont know whats going on i used an Internet cheapie one stop hpt but not relying on it, i think im going to have to wait 4 days see how im feeling and brave it up and buy a FRER xx

Hey hun,

OPKS are shit. Most women can get Positive OPK's at ANYTIME during their cycle, so they're not really reliable. Temping is probably your best bet at getting an accurate readin on when you're oving...as well as watching your cm.

2. How do I read the results of an OPK? This is very important: OPK's are not read like HPT's. An OPK has a "control" line and a "test" line, just like an HPT. Unlike an HPT, however, the mere presence of a "test" line does not mean the test is positive. The test line must be as dark as, or darker than, the control line to be a positive result (meaning that a surge was detected, rather than the ordinary amount of LH usually found in your urine every day.)


Which would mean that you aren't gearing upto ovulation, and this is just your base level of LH. You always have some knocking around (usually between 5 and 10 miu, and the peak is normally above 15, most OPKs go positive above 25miu), even before the surge, so this is probably the most likely reason for the line.
