I'm Currently Feeling:

elm's pregnancy journal

I promised I'd start a journal so here it is. I've just seen my ticker has changed to look a lot more baby like which is very exciting.

A bit of background info - I'm 31 (just!) and OH is 32, we've been together for nearly 4 years. We'd been TTC properly since January this year officially. My OH is just coming to the end of a very stressful course which he needs to make his work lots better and I am working self employed (occasionally at the moment) after leaving a really stressful job to improve life for us both and to improve my health. We're looking to move from our current abode (a narrowboat) later in the year to prepare a lovely home for our LO, going to miss it loads but don't think there's really enough room here for a baby and it'll make life alot easier.

I tend to waffle alot but I'll try not to too much

I made first contact with my midwife today, she sounded really nice and I've arranged to go and see her next Friday - she normally does home visits but as there's not much room here and it's a bit awkward she's sorting out a room at my drs.

I'm starting to get a bit more excited as opposed to worried now - I'm still worrying about things going wrong - but I'm starting to feel more pregnant if that makes sense. I think it's probably because I'm seeing a midwife.

I'm going to go and read some other journals now - I haven't been in this bit of the forum before, it looks exciting

Hey sweetie just wanted to drop by and say have a good 7 months and hope the M/W appointment goes well.
Oh you never said you lived in a narrow boat before! That's so cool!
Hope your OH's course gives him the rest-bite with the job he is after, my DF is doing similar things at the moment, very stressful but with an end in sight an.d a better long term outlook once they are all finished

Thank you & polo_princess. The course will mean he can be self-employed and not have to do the stupid bit of his job he has to at the moment to get the qualification so things will be loads better. He's been doing it for nearly 3 years now (it's an 18 month course!) after dislocating his shoulder half way through the first time he took it. Hope yours finishes his soon too and our lives become lots easier!!!

I went maternity bra shopping today as Mothercare have a sale on and really needed some new bras. I've gone from a 36DD when I was measured in Lewis's in May to a 38C and 38D at Mothercare today... Not sure what's going on there but they feel quite supportive and lovely so not going to wonder too much.

Felt horrible going round shops, kept feeling really nauseous and lightheaded and snapping at OH poor man. Feel lots better after eating things and sitting down for a bit though, am just feeling huge now - am hoping it's temporary bloating and not more fat getting me.

I want a NetNanny type thing to stop me reading about miscarriages and bleeding and things unless I really need to - I just keep worrying myself and there's no need!!!

Oh honey stay away from the scary websites!!! Maybe the bra sizes are different because of the way they measure you and sometimes aren't bras different sizes depending on the brand?

Sounds like bub is telling you to keep eating though so don't go worrying about size! Any other plans for the weekend?

I need a new bra! I don't even know where to start. My old ones still fit but I think it is because they are being stretched!

Try not to worry about all the possible things that can go wrong. It isn't good for you or your little one! everything I am sure is perfect and great!!! Enjoy being preg!!!
