Ok, so it's been a VERY long time so I thought I'd ressurrect this diary as I finally feel well enough to keep it up. So here's a brief summary of what's happened so far:
* morning sickness set in bang on week 6 and got worse and worse and worse...
*...until I had to spend the whole of week 8 in hospital on an IV drip due to dehydration and weight loss.
* had a scan in hospital at 8+4 and saw the baby for the first time!!!! I was so relieved I cried!!!
* finally came out of hospital and the sickness started up again almost as soon as I stepped through the door. Hubby was knackered from working extra hours and looking after me, so my parents whisked me away to stay with them for the week and a change of scenery.
* my birthday was during the week I was at my parents, and I have to say, it was the crappest birthday ever. Only my parents, by brother and my hubby remembered - even FACEBOOK didn't recognise it and that's saying something

(actually, melbo sent me a happy birthday message too which really cheered me up!)
* week 9 - developed an addiction to salad and cheese. The salad addiction has gone away but the chees is still there unfortunately!
* had SO much time off work it was ridiculous! Managed to throw up on the train trying to get into work on one occasion and had to endure dirty disgusted looks from other commuters who probably thought I was just another stupid woman with a hangover. I sat at Clapham Junction crying while my hubby drove all the way to pick me up (I love that man

)
* week 12 came and so did my scan - my mum and hubby came with me and we were so thrilled to see our little baby wriggling about all over the place.

The sonographer commented on how long the baby's arms and legs were, then she looked at me (5ft9") and hubby (6ft3") and said "ahh, I see!"
So that's it in a nutshell. I can't really say I've enjoyed myself so far, but I'm so looking forward to this lil baby growing and developing that I guess I can overlook what was a really CRAP first tri and just look forward to the future.
I bought my first pair of maternity trousers yesterday from H&M and a nice top that can be worn as a dress too. I'm usually a size 10-12 but had to buy a 14 from H&M Mama section and felt good that I'm finally getting bigger - growth is good as far as I'm concerned! i was a bit annoyed that I have to go all the way to Kingston to get my £12 New Look maternity jeans that everyone's been banging on about though! The trousers in H&M were £25 and I only got them coz I was desperate and have several things to go to this week and I needed a smart pair. Ah well, I'll look at them as my investment trousers!
Apart from my boobs and bum seeming to be growing out of control, I feel ok! I'm still sick every morning without fail, and nauseous at night, but during the day I'm ok and starting to feel more energetic. I'm looking forward to a great 2nd trimester!
