Neecee's Journal - Diary of a Mad Pregnant Woman!

Well, let me start by saying Hi to everyone! My husband and I decided to try again for a baby, after I had a missed m/c at 7 weeks early in 2007. We only tried the once this time and BAM! As you can imagine, it's been a MASSIVE ego boost for him! LOL!

Anyway, I found out on our wedding anniversary last week that I was pregnant and I'm currently 5+4 and REALLY wishing that I was further along so that I can stop being so worried and paranoid.

Symptoms-wise, I've got HUGE boobs (my sis-in-law has started calling me Jordan!), I seem to have bloated up from a 12 to a 14 and I can't stay awake for a whole day without having a nap at some point. I seem to have a real passion for cheese at the moment and Sara Lee Black Forest Gateaux! Oh yeah, and constipation is a killer at the moment!

I have an early scan booked for next friday (13th) so I'm hoping to at least be able to see a heart beat. We're really praying that this pregnancy will go to term, as we both really want this baby and we feel a lot more prepared than we did the first time round.

Talking

Ok, so it's been a VERY long time so I thought I'd ressurrect this diary as I finally feel well enough to keep it up. So here's a brief summary of what's happened so far:

* morning sickness set in bang on week 6 and got worse and worse and worse...

*...until I had to spend the whole of week 8 in hospital on an IV drip due to dehydration and weight loss.

* had a scan in hospital at 8+4 and saw the baby for the first time!!!! I was so relieved I cried!!!

* finally came out of hospital and the sickness started up again almost as soon as I stepped through the door. Hubby was knackered from working extra hours and looking after me, so my parents whisked me away to stay with them for the week and a change of scenery.

* my birthday was during the week I was at my parents, and I have to say, it was the crappest birthday ever. Only my parents, by brother and my hubby remembered - even FACEBOOK didn't recognise it and that's saying something (actually, melbo sent me a happy birthday message too which really cheered me up!)

* week 9 - developed an addiction to salad and cheese. The salad addiction has gone away but the chees is still there unfortunately!

* had SO much time off work it was ridiculous! Managed to throw up on the train trying to get into work on one occasion and had to endure dirty disgusted looks from other commuters who probably thought I was just another stupid woman with a hangover. I sat at Clapham Junction crying while my hubby drove all the way to pick me up (I love that man )

* week 12 came and so did my scan - my mum and hubby came with me and we were so thrilled to see our little baby wriggling about all over the place. The sonographer commented on how long the baby's arms and legs were, then she looked at me (5ft9") and hubby (6ft3") and said "ahh, I see!"

So that's it in a nutshell. I can't really say I've enjoyed myself so far, but I'm so looking forward to this lil baby growing and developing that I guess I can overlook what was a really CRAP first tri and just look forward to the future.

I bought my first pair of maternity trousers yesterday from H&M and a nice top that can be worn as a dress too. I'm usually a size 10-12 but had to buy a 14 from H&M Mama section and felt good that I'm finally getting bigger - growth is good as far as I'm concerned! i was a bit annoyed that I have to go all the way to Kingston to get my £12 New Look maternity jeans that everyone's been banging on about though! The trousers in H&M were £25 and I only got them coz I was desperate and have several things to go to this week and I needed a smart pair. Ah well, I'll look at them as my investment trousers!

Apart from my boobs and bum seeming to be growing out of control, I feel ok! I'm still sick every morning without fail, and nauseous at night, but during the day I'm ok and starting to feel more energetic. I'm looking forward to a great 2nd trimester!

Feeling ok today! Almost wasn't sick this morning and I thought "Huh? This doesn't feel right..." But just as I'd finished brushing my teeth, it came on like clock work - and then I felt more reassured that I could get on with my day! It's almost like it's some kind of insurance for me now - do it first thing, and you'll be alright for the rest of the day!

I don't think I'm eating enough for breakfast, as by the time I get to work I'm starving again and have to find something else to eat. I'm going to start keeping cereal at work again to stop myself eating crap at 9 o'clock in the morning.

My friend called to say she felt her baby moving for the first time yesterday! I was really happy for her but so jealous! I'm now trying to 'tune myself in' to my body to see if I can feel any little flutters in the coming weeks.

I was meant to go out at lunch time but instead spent it chatting to TJK+CEP on msn. The poor girl's going through exactly what I did - being sick, in and outof hospital and not keeping anything down - I really felt for her as I know exactly how she's feeling. I really am so glad that the worst of my sickness seems to be over and I'm finally getting back to my old self!

Facial update: Skin isn't as greasy today. I still think my nose has grown a little too much for my liking. I'm keeping an eye on the shape of my face too, as hubby called me moonface last night. Twit.

Just caught up on your journal! Have you tried ebay for clothes? I've just got a massive bundle of maternity clothes for 99p (&£14 p and p). Haven't got them yet but there's so many of them (including jeans, combats and a Next black trouser suit!!!). Definately worth a look!

Those New Look jeans do look really nice. I got a lovely maternity top from there for £3 in the sale.

xxx
