Talking

First Time Mum :-) 1/8/08

I had absolute no idea I was pregnant!!
I had the doctors on the 21st November 2007 about having troubles getting to sleep she advised me to take a pregnancy test but i didn't think anything of it as my period wasn't actually due until the 22nd. So i just took the test anyway not having a care about it and no idea what so ever. I sent the urine sample back to the doctors the following day. 5 days went by and i still hadn't got my period. I have never been even one day late since i started getting periods. I thought it was just because it was playing on my mind a bit as my mum said she thought i was because of the things that were happening for example bolking when i was trying to swallow certain foods that i once ate before. So on the Tuesday which was the 27th i bought a home pregnancy test..to my suprise it was 100% positive..I couldn't believe it ! The next day my doctor called to give me my results but I let her knew i already knew and booked up a doctors appointment at a later date.
Falling pregnant at 17 was never ever my intention and always knew the consequences it comes with. The year before I spent my whole summer working abroad in Spain having the time of my life and it was my intention to go back doing that this year!
I already had my own flat that I moved into just after i got back from Spain in September. And now moving in about a month into a two bedroom for when the little one comes..also i needed a ground floor as i'm on a top floor just now which isn't too practical for pulling prams up and down by yourself.
For the first 3 months of my pregnancy i could of thought it was like dying! I had such a horrible time being sick not eating or sleeping. I barely left the house because everywhere i went i was fainting and being sick.
7 and a half weeks in i was staying over at my mums house when i had noticed i was bleeding. I felt terrified and my mum phoned the NHS 24hour helpline they sent someone to pick me up and take me to the nearest hospital in my area. The Doctor examined me and advised me to get an emergency scan the following morning. As you can imagine this led to a sleepless night. So the following morning came and I went down to the scanning section of my hospital.. I didn't know what to expect and prepared myself for the worst. "We'll need to do an internal scan i'm afraid" so the lady got everything prepared and off she went.. she called in 2 other doctors and i was worrying my head off what she was going to say..then she said to me .. "do you see that" i looked up the screen and seen my baby's heart beating away..I was pretty tearful as you can imagine and she sent me off advising me everything was absolutly fine just to put my feet up and relax and it was nothing they hadn't seen a million times before during the early stages of pregnancy. So a couple of days went by and it got to the friday..then i started bleeding again but not very much atall this time. I left it thinking what the nurse had said and tryed not to worry about it. Nothing since then had happened. 13 weeks down the line it was time for my 1st scan. Me and my best mate went down I couldn't believe it when i'd seen how much the baby had developed in such little time? it had everything..arms legs fingers toes! Definetly one of the best days iv'e had - both me and my mate were crying because we couldn't believe how real it all was now - because before then it hadn't really sunk in!
Then saturday jus that weekend there..i was getting really painful stomach pains all down my left side and 2 or 3 days had went by without feeling the baby do a thing. so i picked the phone up to the NHS 24 hour helpline again..she said it could possibly be a cist..so again as you would i paniked .. The maternity ward at my chosen hospital then advised me to come down and see them as soon as i could so i got my things and went straight away. They monitored the babys heartbeat..and just at that moment the little one started jumpin about lively as ever again - i couldn't believe it! The doctor came in and told me that it was because my muscle ligaments were too tight and thats why it was hurting because of all the stretching that was going on inside! Thank God!

22 weeks on now and the baby is forever moving and kicking more so late on at night when i just get into bed!!
Can't wait till he/she is eventually here so i can stop being so worried about this pregnancy!!

I fell pregnant at 17 - although I am now 18 and doing it by myself..
Iv'e had one shit year after losing my dad unexpectidly and had one problem after another since.. But i might be young and looked on as a stupid girl getting pregnant but i look at it as the start of a better life and time for me and can't wait for he/she to arrive ! afterall there isn't any harm a little baby is gonna do that can top the year ive had..I know this is the best thing that could ever have happened to me right now and i know i'm going to be good at it!

Week 23...
Seen the baby kicking through my tummy this week..weirddd...is it something to do with the water being hot in a bath that makes it go mad lol? only a few more days till i am officially half a year pregnant lol! woohoo go me!
