Just got back, better news then what we thought. Cervix is still closed so classed as a threatened m/c. So that's better than we thought.

So we went to the A&E and it was deadly quiet, there were only 2 other people there. I tell you.. SHows like ER, Chicago Hope, and Casualty all lie to you, you think that there's going to be commotion and the waiting room packed to the brim with stressed out nurses and fights breaking out all over the place. Nope..None of that..

Anyhow, we get there at around 6ish and we're seen within 15 minutes (I started reading a magazine and didn't finish it). So the usual stats and problems were charted down. So out we went again for the wife to drink so that she could provide a urine sample. Before she could finish that, we were shown to another room (by this time it was approx 6.30). It was here that her bloods were taken and blood pressure, etc. By the time all this was done, it was about 7:15.

So after various doctors and nurses, the gyne doctor (Bad a spelling) came in and she got the wife to lay down on the bed and she got examined. The summary was that there was a little bit of bleeding, but the cervix was still closed and therefore, it would be termed as a threatened miscarriage. We thought it was a total m/c at this point (hence the better news then we thought).

The wife's eyes did go wide when the mention of forceps were mentioned, but they didn't have to be used, much to the wife's relief.

Hey, I finally see my wife with another woman, but I guess getting examined/probed by another woman doesn't match up to the fantasy that many guys have in there head. I did say that now sh's offically bi now (but I don't think she quite agreed with me).

So now it's a waiting game, we have a scan this friday, so one way or another, we'll know. I have read some stuff that even at this stage, you can still go on to have a normal birth (I hope that we're in that group).

I was talking to one of the other nurses who said that she's gone through 10 m/c's..How you would go through all that is a mystery.

Also we do want to find out the sex (isn't 10 weeks going to be a bit early?)

What was the nuchal scan/sexing scan like at Mums?
hi ya im really pleased to see everything seems ok now, just think they cause this much grief and worry before they are even here imagine what its like when they are lmao...

you wont be able to tell the sex at 10 weeks its too early from a scan they say 17 weeks is the earliest but my friend found out between 12 + 14...

the nuchal scan was brilliant they did a thorough scan and you i also got a dvd of everything, they measured the head, legs, tummy, spine, etc etc and then measured the thickness of the chord...this did take a little time and a lot of wriggling as my little man was lying on his back with his arms behind his head not preapered to move lol BUT we got it in the end and all was fine, too be honest it was expensice but worth it in my eyes as i have downs in my family and felt i needed to know....

good luck with everything get your wife to chill as much as she can!!

She is chilling...She's havin alot of bed rest as when she is up and about, she gets regular cramping and the blood flow seems to be heavier. She's passing little tenny clots and it does seem to be more regular. So we're just preparing for the worst.

Stressed isn't the word, just have to wait and see. If she still gets the cramping and/or it gets worse, probably take her down to A&E again.

Well today is the scan, not expecting anything to be there, just an empty space. Went to the A&E yesterday as the bleeding hadn't stopped. ALthough on Wednesday, she was having aa dull ache across her lower region and she said it was almost like having contractions. Then after a while it stopped. So we think that might have been uterus opening, getting rid and then prob closing again.

Reason I say closing again is that wife got examined yesterday (got to love the cold metal thing (you know what they use to open up to peek inside - I forget what it's called) and the doc/nurse didn't mention anything about an open cervix. Just mentioned that all she could see was old blood (although we see red blood everytime).

So as you can see, today is just a might as well see what's not there and get this episode over with so we can try again in a few weeks/days/hours (delete as needed).

Well got back from the hospital and it was a complete miscarriage. Nothing there.

So we waited for the doctor and I think he was a bit surprised that we didn't have the usual why questions. We just told him we had done our research so there was no point in asking the questions that we knew about.

I'll still keep posting here, no point in keeping flittering between boards, as I plan to be back here pretty soon.

Hi Mate just joined this forum as my fiance has been on here a while and suggested i put my 2 pence worth in. Im sorry to hear about your baby i lost a son at 29 weeks he was born premature and had a diaphragmatic hernia which had caused his lungs not to form properly so unfortunately he died. Its a hard thing to accept and deal with but all i can say is that time is a healer and it becomes easier to live with i said that i would never try for another child as i have a daughter as well because i didnt want to chance having toi experience that pain again but after meeting my fiance who has been through a similar trauma I have realised that whats meant to be will be. I hope you and your partner dont have to go through that again and that you will be giving the child you both obviously want i wish you all the best for your future and know that you will be ok in time

Thanks for the words...Did go through a weird phase over the weekend, and most people have just said that they're sorry, but I the kind of person that is ok with that sort of thing.

Although on Sunday night, did break down and cry, which then set the wife off, but since then I've been fine about it.

Still reading journels and still TTC, back to the sticky - lotion - egg white analysis again.
