my friend from work appealed through the union and shes been re-istated. both of us aren't eligable for the maternity pay ie 90% of wages which woulda been nice to have £900 pm instead of the SMP of £112 pw but theres nothin i can do about that ive not worked there for over 12 months !!! i wish i would of stayed in my last place of work they was a lot more family orientated and i would of got the companies mat pay .
anyway about the pea in my pod, well i went for my booking in scan on 11th feb (pic is on my avatar) and we saw it wriggling around like mad and rolling around i had a little tear aswell this time too. OH thinks its going to be a boy so we've got a bet on £20 for the winner.
Im getting excited now about everything, university have differed my place until march 09 and me and OH are starting to save up for everything and we have been browsing the shops and internet for baby stuff lol
the only problems ive got are:
OH's mum is overbearing... everything she says is gospel apparently. (not to this girly anyway) nowadays i just say what i think of what she says for example my most often used replies...
"oh thanks for that advise i'll bear that in mind when I make my decision"
"no i am serious are you"
"hahahahahha.... you are joking .... right"
a girl in college (i go to night school) keeps trying to touch my belly, its not a baby belly im only 11 weeks its 98% gas an water and 2% baby. i tried being polite by shuftin away... no joy so i had to say something. it was odd that a 24 yr old couldnt grasp that i didnt want to be patted and stroked. dont even talk to her that ofter niether. i wouldnt mind so much if it was a friend or relative but a virtual stranger... NAH
one of my best friends has been ttc since she got married.... 2-3 years ago to no joy. I cant help thinking shes avoiding me a bit. see when i spoke to her after i told her i was with child i didnt talk about pea in the pod unless she asked a question (didnt want to 'rub her nose in it") but before i was pregnant we'd talk for ages every other night... that has now dwindilled to a phone call every other week. ive been ringing her but she'd text me and say sorry she missed my call she'd been busy. maybe am reading too much into it but i dont even know how to politely ask if shes being distant with me because im pregnant
i wasnt exactly what you would call jumping for joy when we found out. I had just had my places accepted for uni sept 08 for either degrees in mental health nursing or midwifery i just had to choose and accept their offer (whichever i chose)
also myself and my OH dont live together so while he was getting excited and decided he had to tell his parents i was just in a trance thinking about what i was going to do about my uni places, where we was going to live, how we would afford it

i did update this last night but it got lost due to the evil hacker
anyhooo
i had a terrible weekend, i woke up 5am on saturday thinking i had pee'd my bed . so i stubbled and fumbled around to find my lamp switch, turned my lamp on and to my horror it wasnt pee it was blood.
i rang the local emergency gynea clinic and they advised me to come straight in... i was thinking i had lost the lil pea in my pod. so i was hysterical for some reason i had it in my head i would get a taxi up there on my own (so's not to worry anyone) but my dad heard my sobbing and came in my room to find me slumped on the floor crying and shaking (after all the drama, my dad confessed he thought i was sleep walking again like i did when i was a kid, he used to find me in the living room sitting on the couch fast asleep lol) anyway my dad got me to call my OH so he got here and my dad drove us to the hospital.
on arrival i got taken straight through, i had my BP taken that was sky high understandably, urine tested for infection that came up clear, an internal with a clear odd looking thing that opens up that helped the doc confim that the blood was coming from my womb. then i sat through near an hour of being used as a pin cushion so they could get my blood group they couldnt get none so they had to ring a different hospital from when i had an operation 1-2 years previously to establish my group. they then told my to return on sunday for a scan...
that 24 hr + wait was devostating i was so scared, i didnt want to wake up i wanted to die in my sleep so i wouldnt have to go through being told id lost the baby. my dad and OH were amazing though. i didnt want to burden them with my worries so i came on here and just wrote down my stresses and worries and it was so nice to get so many kind words and support from people i hadnt even met.
so on saturday my OH stayed with me all day at my house and then we stayed at his in the night as it was closer to the hospital and he needed to shower and change for the scan the next day.
i honestly couldnt talk i was constantly sobbing, i didnt sleep all night. the sunday came around and as we was leaving OHs mum tried to talk to me/ give me a hug but i couldnt look at her face full of pity for me so i turned away from her and ran out of the house to the car and sobbed my heart out.
finally we got to the hospital at 12.30 there was a sign saying there was a wait of 2-3 hrs but lucilly i got taken in to be scanned straight away.
the sonographer almost imeadiatly told us that she could see the baby moving (i felt like kissing her lol) my OH then asked if there was a heartbeat (bless him) i later explained to him that it cant move if it hasnt got 1. so we saw its heartbeat head hands legs feet spine everything she measured it and its measured at 4 days ahead of my EDD but she said to stick to my EDD.
ive never been so happy. we then got called to see a nurse and she just confirmed the sonographers report saying that its all okay surrounding the baby and the baby is fine. they couldnt tell me where the blood was coming from though or why.
when i got outside my OH rang his parents and i rang my dad, he cried his eyes out down the phone , my dad has gone so soft lol.
so i had one hell of a weekend.
im still getting a few bits of blood but the emegency clinic said if it is dark (which its not), or lots of it and or has clots for me to come straight back. also if i have any cramping too.
p.s its gonna be grounded for life for all the worry i have had lol.

Things will work themselves out hun and tell the dragon (OH's mother) to butt out! It's not her baby, it's yours!!

another fucking bleed!!!! friday!!!
went to hospital saturday doc seems to think baby should be fine, same source as last time however ive got an emergency scan on tuesday thou. im not as panicked this time as doctor was reassuring im still shitting my knickers though lol.
this pregnancy is putting me off being pregnant ever ever ever again.
update on tuesday.
woohooo ive had my scan lil pea is A-OKAY haha
its still a mystery what is causing the bleeds but im soooooooooo happy its nothing to do with the baby.
it measured 15+3 weeks which is almost dead on a week ahead of what my EDD says, the sonographer said when i go for my 20 week scan they may alter my EDD if im still ahead.
