Update for my journal....helps that I can reference it here!
Went for scan yesterday (Dec. 26th) with DH. Baby was measuring at 10 weeks minus 2 days. What joy is was to see that little bean jumping and hearing it's heartbeat! There is actually something inside there!! The look on DH's face!! Sweet!
I did my blood tests on Christmas Day (XMAS is not celebrated in the country where I am) and got results immediately. Results showed abnormal TSH but normal T3 and T4 and out of whack antibodies-peroxidase. They sent me to an endocrinologist immediately where they scanned my thyroid to see if it was enlarged - all was well there. They concluded that I had inflammation of thyroid because it was being attacked by the out of whack antibodies which were caused by my high prolactin levels - originating in the pituitary. I cannot get an MRI now that I am pregnant so I have to wait until after the pregnancy. Since my T3 and T4 are normal they think all is well with the baby since those are the hormones which cross the placenta to the baby. I need to be monitored and tested every month to ensure that T3 and T4 remain at normal thorughout pregnancy.
Baby was healthy and I go back in 3 weeks for my NUCHAL scan.
I am on top of the world today because I saw baby and out little joy is doing fine... Nothing compares to hearing that heartbeat and seeing that little one!!
