Thrush ???

I've noticed over the last 24 hrs or so, when I go to the bathroom for a pee I get a burning sensation down there, which lasts maybe 10 - 15 minutes afterwards. (sorry if TMI)

I assume this is thrush - do I need to visit my OB about this, or would an over the counter Canesten type cream just sort it out.

Has anyone had it and what did you end up taking ?

Thanks

I hadn't experienced that. It might be a beginning of an UTI. I would talk to the OB to make sure. I have reframed from using OTC meds unless in the SMALL list provided by my OB. I hope you feel better.

It could well be thrush or it may be a UTI if it stings as you are urinating or just after. If it is thrush (which is very common in pg) then you should only use something prescribed/ approved by your doctor. There are creams and pessaries one can use during pg, but definitly check with your doctor for which types are safe during pg.

xx

Start drinking cranberry juice, as this helps if a uti. But check with doc/ob/gyn in case it's something else. In my experience, the main symptoms of thrush are itching and sometimes creamy discharge. Sounds more like cystitis or other uti to me...but I'm no doc. Best to get professional advice.

If it is thrush, my midwife told me otc pessaries are fine (& external cream), but to insert the pessary tablet with your finger, not the applicator. Oral tablets are a definite no-no.

What a pain - literally !!.

I've had a UTI before (about 4 years ago) and it felt different as I had quite a lot of pain in the rib / kidney area as well.

Just googled cystitus - and it seems to match symptoms as no itchyness or creamy white discharge which is symtomatic of thrush.

Going call my OB in the morning and get a urine test done - just to be safe.

Thanks Ladies

Yes you must get it sorted apparently it's not good for the little beans health. Go see your doctor or chemist. Plus you must be in a lot of discomfort.
