Just heard from my doctor. He basically told me cramping is completely normal and not to be concerned. He said if I start to get cramping with spotting then I should come in, but I have had no spotting. I told him sometimes they are fairly strong cramps that I just breathe through, and other times they are normal period cramps.
He said yes, these are normal. His wife apparently had them with her pregnancy as well. He said she drove him crazy LOL
I also asked him why I cramp more when I lie on my right side. He said who knows. He said, "You shouldn't be cramping anyway, because it's not like you're having a period. But you women do for some reason when you're pregnant."
I really like my doctor. And he always calls me himself, never has his nurse do it which I really like. So, bottom line: If I'm not spotting, don't worry. It's normal! And I'll see him at my normal appointment February 10th

I am 12 weeks pregnant and suffering from these pains too. I experienced the same pain at 5 weeks but then the pains went and now they are back. I think its because my uterus is rising up from my pelvis.

Hi All,

I am new to this website. I read all the comments...

I found out I was pregnant about week ago. I am about 11 weeks gone... have not had my first scan yet but scheduled to have soon.

I too am experiencing cramping....they come and go....

It was worrying me but it was good to find out that it is due to the growth of the uterus.

Thank you all for the reassurance..http://www.babyandbump.com/images/sm...eusa_angel.gif

All the best...

I am glad I am not the only one! I am 11 weeks today (according to my early scan) and I have been having some mild cramps on and off. I felt some weird twinges last night. I have been wondering all day if it was normal. I am a bit relieved after reading this thread!

I wouldn't be worried unless there is bleeding!
