Things not quite adding up...

Hey ladies
So I am coming up on 11 weeks now, and everything is going just fine, but I've been having some funny doubts for a long time now and today I decided it's time to share them on here and see what people think, or if anyone is in a similar position at all...
First, the background- I got my BFP 4 months after coming off BCPs, BUT my LMP was not a very typical one: I was nearly 2 weeks late (I am NEVER late, usually 28 days bang on) and had so many typical "early signs" that month, but all tests came back neg. The next month I took OPKs and we did it on the strongest day, and then later that month I tested and got my BFP.
The first time I thought things were not quite "normal" was when I had heartburn majorly bad from about week 4 (as soon as I got my BFP) It seemed very early to be getting heartburn, and sickness wasnt far behind.
The next thing that was not quite average was that I noticed myself getting a bump very early: By 9 weeks it was quite pronounced, and I've been eating very sensibly but have gained a bit more than I thought I would by this point.
Once I hit 9 1/2 weeks, sickness was pretty much gone already, although heartburn is still quite strong: Shouldn't it be more like 12 weeks when sickness starts to subside??
Then just earlier today I had my final little weirdness which made me want to share it with you all: I have had several little twinges and movement type feelings in my uterus and that general area for quite a while, but I think nothing of it: Just growing and changing etc. But today I had a very very distinct "nudge" from the inside, like a little one kicking off the side to "swim" to another position: It was TOTALLY different to all the other sensations I've been having, and really took my breath away! Not painful though.

SO... My thoughts are: Is it possible that I missed my positive for a month? Is that even possible if the tests said no and I did have a period bleed (tho late and quite short) and I took OPKs and got a positive after that bleed?
If I'm not a month out, then what else could be going on? Twins? Something else? Or am I just seeing things oddly, is it all within normal range?

Thanks in advance for your ideas! I'll know whether anything is different than expected after my first scan on 2nd Feb anyway, but wanted to share!

if you have a 12 week scan they will tell you if they think you are further along than you thought.

Yea, thanks, I know, I was just wondering whether anyone else has had similar experiences and whether the outcome was that they WERE a month out, or everything was just as expected... Maybe it's just one nice big healthy baby?!

Just a thought, did your OPK's go back to negative after the surge?

Hmmm an interesting one. Just a though someone else started a thread saying that they felt their uterus pop over their pelvic bone today at about 12 weeks, culd you have felt this too?? I feel weird stretching and movement in my tummy area I think it's probably wind but it feels like my insides are moving about bit. Any chance you can get an earlier scan date??

It's a possibility, although I will say I got heartburn really early-I didn't test until I was 7 weeks, but in a diary entry I wrote about heartburn sneezing and feeling sick, and if I calculated back correctly, I was about four weeks. Morning sickness is not with everyone for the same amount of time, it varies-mine disappeared about a week after I got my -so 8 weeks. As for kicks-it could be gas-I still feel gas in my lower tummy, and think that it is a baby kicking-even though I know it isn't. As for showing early-some people do show early-I know my best friend looked like she was 9 months pregnant when she was 8 weeks! I know how you feel though thinking it's a possibility being farther along, because I got a false the month before I actually became pregnant, and I kept thinking I might be a month farther-but I wasn't-my early scan proved I was right on with my lmp-but the thought was still in my head So just wait it out until your scan and see how far they say you are and go with that. Good Luck!!

Hi Dan O! Nice to see another Devon mummy!!
Pippin: Not sure about the moving over the pelvis thing, I guess that's quite possible, it did feel like a big movement, and even if I am a month out, then I doubt LO would be big enough to make such a strong sensation yet...

Dan O, yes, they did go back to negative after the surge, which is what makes me think that I can't really be a month out. If I were worried about it at all for some reason, I'm sure I could arrange for an earlier scan, but I feel great and otherwise everything feels normal, so I'm not going to do that. My scan is 2nd Feb, I am really looking forward to it! We've been daydreaming about the possibility of twins lately, and really like the idea, but we know that it is massively unlikely... But then, it does happen spontaneously sometimes, and with being so big so early and having so much heartburn I am wondering....

Shadow x

Hmmm, puzzling!

I know what you mean though, I'd like twins too, despite the extra work! xxx

It's a possibility but just to let you know I was sick with major heartburn and other symptoms before I was even 3 weeks, and I also have a bit of a bump right now and it's comfirmed I am right on time at 9 weeks. The movement could be trapped gas which is an uncomfortable but common symptom. Either way, hope everything is healthy and progressing for you!
