I KNOW it's normal but I can't find the hearbeat today and I'm worrying

We had our scan 2 days ago and all seemed well, but today I've not found the heartbeat on 3 occasions, with a full bladder, empty bladder, after drinks, after food, after caffeine... Talk me out of my panic, please! I also made the mistake of wearing white knickers today and I had a tiny amount of yellowy CM - I've only worn black knickers for ages and the CM has always been creamy white so I'm worrying about that, too. HELP! Husband is getting stroppy, saying 'see, this is why you shouldn't use the bloody thing...'

My MW always said that people shouldn't use home dopplers until 14+ weeks because of how hard it is to find the heartbeat and tell the difference between placental, maternal and foetal heartbeat.

Try not to worry, the chances of something being wrong at this stage are slim.

Don't panic, i had a bleed at about 13 weeks, the midwife came round with a doppler and she couldn't find a heartbeat, she tried for ages. Obviously I was panicking! I was given an appointment a few days later and a different midwife managed to find a heartbeat. Have another go in a few days. My OH wouldn't let me get a doppler when I was pregnant because I would be checking all the time! xx

Stop worrying!!! I just made a similar post a few days ago... I had tried on multiple occasions all day long and couldn't find the heartbeat! I did the same thing by trying an empty bladder, full bladder, feet up, feet down, more gel... nothing worked. I was freaking out so badly and couldn't sleep since I was imagining the worse. I had heard the heartbeat on other occasions quite quickly so I was certain something was wrong with the baby. I should have put the stupid doppler away, but I didn't and finally decided to put fresh batteries in it, although the other batteries were still good. I'm not sure if that helped, or if the baby shifted, but I finally found the heartbeat. Don't stress about it- just put it away! Mine is away with batteries out, so I'm not even tempted!

Gawd, I really feel for you, no wonder you are feeling so anxious!

Please try and stay calm for you and your little one and tomorrow if you still feel the same contact your midwife or even gp and get the heartbeat PROFESSIONALLY assessed and get rid of the doppler! It makes me so mad that they are available to buy, I think it's really irresponsible for them to be be retail and also daft that anybody would want to buy one! The way I see I see if you're not a midwife/gp or obsectricion you shouldn't be using one!

I am sure things are ok but the sale of these items only cause obsessiveness and fear when you can't find the heartbeat. You're being monitored by professionals just like the rest of us and regularily so please let them do their jobs and you should just enjoy growing your lovely healthy baby without stressing yourself out!

Sorry to sound preachy, but I do actually care!

This is meant to be your special time, you don't need to be worrying about something you're not trained to find, ok?

Take Care xxx

lisalovesbean, i really wouldn't call people "daft" for wanting to use a doppler!! Have you ever had a MMC? Perhaps if you have you may understand why someone would want to check on their baby. We know we may not find it early on, but personally i'd much rather worry (whilst knowing it's probably ok) for a day or 2, than worry for weeks at a time between appointments.

OP try again tomorrow. ((hugs)) i hope your bean quits playing hide and seek with you soon!
