12 week scan tomorrow morning! What should i expect?

Somehow the time seems to have flown over to get to 12 weeks, i can hardly believe it! My NHS scan is at 10.30am tomorrow, and we have a private scan booked for Sunday morning as my hubby can't come tomorrow, which is a shame.

Will the baby be quite big on the screen now? I had a scan at 8 weeks and although we could see the heartbeat we couldn't really make out the baby as it was so small. Should i be able to see the baby move? Do you normally need to pay for photos? Don't really know what to expect!

hi hun baby will be moving all over the place.
should be able to see all of baby .
i never payed 4 scaned pics hope all goes well hun. cant wait 4 pics

I ate some chocolate before the scan, and s/he was all over the place!! Not sure if it was from the chocolate, or from being stabbed in the stomach! lol.....

The place where I went, charged $20 for the pics. They put it on a cd and we copied them onto our computers, an printed some at a photoshop.

Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy. You should see quite a lot at this scan - in fact, our best piccies were from our 12 (14 week in our case!) scan. The baby will probably move quite a lot - especially if you eat chocolate or drink a fizzy drink beforehand.

The sonographer will measure the baby to see how far along you are and give you an estimated due date. You will get a photo to take home - how many depends on your sonographer. My friend only got two, but I ended up with about five!

Drink loads of water before you go in as you are supposed to have a full bladder to push the uterus forward. This makes it easier for the sonographer to get a picture of your baby.
