Car sickness Vs Morning sickness

So I am pregnant with my second child and I was never ill with my first, not a single moment so I am kinda freaking out about this cause it feels AWFUL.

I have never in my life been motion sick, nor do I get nausea ever, but for some reason after ten minutes in the car whether I am driving or not I am green in the face and spend the next 3-6 hours with my head over the toilet bowl.

Even now, It is 6am my time and I have been ill since midnight after I picked up a friend who needed a ride home.

Anyone else experience this? Is it morning sickness triggered by motion?

So confused,
Sara

Oh and I'm 7 weeks, 1 day in case that helps

I don't know if being in the car can trigger it, but I suffer from motion sickness, and I can tell you that motion sickness and morning sickness feel exactly the same.

Maybe you should mention it to your healthcare provider?

Thank you

That is good to know. I don't know anyone who has experienced both so that is great perspective. Thank you.

Does morning sickness taper off after a certain number of hours of is everyone different? Cause this is the worst I've felt in a very very very long time.

Oh yah - I never got car sick before, but now I do - only when I'm driving!!! I find sucking on sour candies helps me (jolly rancher candies for me)

Good luck!

Hi, I know how you feel. Motion sickness is not nice, I suffer with it. Hopefully it will calm down soon and you will feel better.

I read somewhere that if you didn't have m/s last time but have it this time (or vice-versa) then it can be a sign that your baby will be the opposite sex to the one you already have.

I've always suffered from car sickness, from the very first time i could sit up in a car when i was super tiny, and i still suffer with it now. Since I've had morning sickness too, the two set each other off horribly and combine to make me more sick than I've ever been! We travelled to France for Christmas to see my mum, and the driving (ferry) was the absolute worst for me...

I empathise with you!! It's no fun at ALL!
Luckily I don't have much need to go in the car lots since we've been home, so I'm only battling the morning sickness, which has subsided for me now (I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow)

Good luck! Hope you can get through it
