UPDATE How full should my bladder be? First early scan tomorrow! EEEK

So I have my first early pregnancy scan tomorrow (7 weeks) and I need a full bladder. How did you go about filling your bladder, did you not wee all morning, 2 hours before, drink a litre of water on the tube, what????? I have a small bladder and it's even smaller now and I'm worried I'll miss fill it, so to speak.

Does it have to be wet yourself full or just filled!!!

UPDATE - We saw and heard the heart beat today. Lil bean is bang on size and my due date was confirmed as the 27th August 2009. DH and I are on My bladder was too full lol so I had to empty a bit and it's a bit squashed but the lady could not have been nicer!!!! Thanks to you all, it was worth the money. I have attached pictures for you to see, the last one has the heartbeat on it as well at the bottom!!!!!

Heres my problem it takes about an hour after you drink water for your bladder to fill up so they tell you to drink a litre of water an hour before your appointment... Then I always sit in the waiting room for 15 mins and I have to pee and I mean have to pee like I am going to pee my pants any minute. I would suggest an hour before drink 1/2 a litre and then about 45 minutes before drink the other half.

I was told to drink 32 oz. an hour before... I had a really hard time with that! I drank it all an hour before, but felt soooo uncomfortable!!! and I ended up throwing up at a red stoplight on the way there

it was humiliating... everyone looking out there windows at the girl hanging her head out of the window puking... ugh. Anyhow, it was the worst and seemed like the longest wait for my scan ever!! And when I was getting my scan the girl says "WOW all I know is your bladder is FULL!!" At that point all I could think about was weeing all over the table!! ugh. She told me that next time, just drink a couple of glasses of water a few hours before and hold it, just until you are at the "omg I have to pee" stage. Hope this helps! Good luck, hun

Ahh thanks she didn't say any of that but I was so excited on the phone I probably didn't give her chance

I'll do the drink half then hold and then drink more before or when I get there depending on what time arrive. Thanks. xxxx

I was told off for not drinking enough! I'd drunk loads but apparently not enough... They always keep you waiting though and I'm nervous I'll pee myself.

well for my scan, which was at 2, i last went to the toilet at 12 and then had a medium size glass of water about 1 and got great pics cos bladder was nicely full

oh, also very important that you ask for pics before they start scanning if you want some else if you ask at the end it's too late (they have to press print as they go along)

we were asked to donate £2 in the charity box for five pics

omg I thought I was going to die on the way down for my first one. I drank a little more than I was supposed to because I didnt want to get there and them to say it wasn't full enough. So it was about a 20 minute drive from work and I had to pull over a pee a little because I seriously thought I was going to pass out. My back started hurting I got super hot, it was HORRIBLE!

So I let a little go and worried that it would be a problem but once I got to the waiting room I got that crazy feeling again. When it was all said and done with, the tech said my bladder was FULL! (like i didnt know that haha) So next time I am drinking half the amount an hour before and the rest like a half hour before or on the way down.
