finally a sympathetic doctor!

yesterday i finally got a sympathetic doctor who took her time to listen to my concerns. when i told her i was experiencing cramps she pulled a face as if to say oh no then told her about my previous m/c's and she pulled a face as if to say oh i'm so sorry (unlike the other doctor who was stony faced the whole time and didnt seem concerned in the slightest about my worrys).she was genuinely concerned for me and could how scared i was.

she was actually suprised that the epu hadnt seen me without a refferal though later said that it might be the case that once you have had 3 m/c and are pg again you might not need a refferal to be seen by them.

anyways she tried to ring the epu got no answer so tried the other epu we have and no answer there which didnt suprise me since they closed at 4/5ish and i didnt get seen til about 6!

so she told me she would ring them this morning and get back to me which she did.

she told me that epu wont see me til 6 weeks so am booked in to see her again on the 21st and she will ring them up then and get me an appointment with them.

so happy that i have a lovely doctor on board who cares about how i'm feeling and not brushing me off like i'm a neurotic woman! going to ask to change my doctor to her from now on!

feeling alot less stressed about it all now too. though cramps are still here but not as bad as they were which is a relieve. honsetly expected to start bleeding at some point but nothing! although did have a horrid dream last night that i started bleeding and lost my baby which wasnt nice. note to my brain: only dream happy pregnancy dreams from now on!!!!! x

Hi Babytots,

Glad that you have got sorted I think that we both use another support board as I remember your name and we are from the same area. I just joined here as you can never have too much information especially when you are pg and been through m/c's. I've had lots of aches and pains and spotting this pg so been really worried but had early scans and thankfully all is ok. I have my next one next week. Are you using the EPU in Hull or Cottingham?

Hi,

No not posted 'there' for ages as I'm waiting until 12 weeks to share my news as I was always posting doom and gloom with suffering m/c's so I thought that it would be nice to have something positive to share.

I've been going to the EPU in Cottingham because that is where my Consultant is based, not sure whether I'll be allowed to give birth there or have to use Hull as I was told with it been my first they may not let me?

I'm almost 12 weeks now and have a scan booked for next week. I've not seen a Midwife yet I've been told that they are really busy and it'll be nearer 14 weeks before I see one.

I bet it was a relief to finally see a Doctor that is sympathetic, and help you. It's so stressful isn't it.

aww bless i can understand why you are waiting to post over there! i thought sod it lol if the worst happens the worst happens want to enjoy it as much as possible this time.

i cant see why they wouldnt let you have your baby at cottingham my auntie had her first baby there!

aww wow 12 weeks thats great cant wait to get to 12 weeks can start to relax a little then. good luck with your scan next week am sure all will go great. i won't see a midwife for a while either yet as it takes forever for them to send an appointment out. should see one by 10 weeks though hopefully.

yeah its lovely to have a nice doctor onboard who cares about my worrys. going to make sure all my appointments are with her from now on, pregnancy is soooo stressful after suffering m/c's which is made worse when non of the medical profession seem to care so am glad i saw her.

you'll have to pm me to let me know who you are as its going to bug me lol. i take it you will be due in july/august time? x
