what a waste of time that was!

f'ing doctors!!!!!! sorry for language just soooo fed up right now!

went in had to go through my history with her which was upsetting enough since she should have all the info up on her screen anyways! then asked her if it was ok to take pregnancy tablets alongside my iron/folic acid tablets since the pregnancy tablets contain both of these too and she didnt understand what i meant! thought was talking about folic acid tablets on their own!!! cojuldnt be bothered with trying to make her understand what i meant!

then asked if could have early scan done and she said that she would put a request in but that they dont usually scan you unless something starts going wrong. knowing my epu that means i wont get a scan til 12 weeks.

i cant wait another 8 weeks to know if my baby is ok especially as my last m/c was a missed m/c i'd rather know early on if my babys h/b has stopped rather then later!

soooo upset and lost all the positivty in things being ok.

just needed something positive to get me through the next few weeks and all i have got is the unknown!

not even sure when my m/w will be in contact with me as she didnt say.

this is the second pregnancy now when they have been so unsympathetic!

grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x

What about a private scan? So frustrating when you see a doc and they treat you with no respect, just another bit of cattle. Thankfully they aren't all like that. Can you see another doctor?

thanks widger if could afford to go private i would

no point seeing another doctor as they are all rubbish at my practice i think the one i saw today is the nicest one out of the lot of them!

anyways not down to the docs anymore down to the people at the epu and whether they reckon i need a scan or not!

my friend also suggested ringing up my midwife (though dont know who she is yet) and seeing if shes more sympathetic but as i dont know her or havent met her i feel i cant just ring her up and ask her if she'll get me a scan.

am hoping df can talk to the epu tomorow and see if he can persuade them. the look on his face when he saw how upset i was getting its not fair we shouldnt have to worry like this! x

What about asking for a second opinion?? and lay it on on how stressed and worried that you are and that you feel an early scan will be beneficial to relieve your worries... worth a try

thanks babycakes theres not much point in getting a second opinion since the rest of the doctors are male and even more unsympathetic then the doctor i saw yesterday.

going to ring epu up again and beg for a scan and if not will see if they can at least do some hcg blood tests. x

Sorry it was such a bad app My Drs are useless too and i'm having to pay £110 for hCG and progesterone checks myself. We only get one scan at 12 weeks too so i will prob have to pay for a 7wk scan and the anomoly. Tbh you are only 4 weeks so they wouldn't see anything just now anyway. Could you wait a few weeks? If you turn up at the EPU with any spotting or bad cramping they should scan you. I hope you manage to get it sorted *hugs*

Im in 2nd tri but didnt want to read and run.

My midwife is crap. Firstly i had a lovely one at the hospital but because i dont live in the borough that the hospital is under they have said that my midwife will be at my doctors.
Ive seen her once and she is rubbish. She didnt check anything with me, ie BP. She just asked if i was ok, feeling ok and then gave me some leaflets and sent me on my way. Im due to see her next Thursday after a really long wait and you know i havent even heard my bubs heartbeat yet. My only reassurance is movement and kicks.

Hope everything goes well with your pregnancy and you get to have a scan before 12 weeks.

These posts break my heart that no one gets on with their docs or midwives! Can't you keep searching for a new doc, at another practise? My OB/GYN delivered my daughter and he is the most wonderful man I've ever met! (aside from DH of course) and the woman doctor in his practise is also wonderful. When I was preggers with my daughter we had an "unofficial" scan every single time I went in as they had the machine in the office.... when we heard the heartbeat for the first time, the woman doctor hugged me and cried with me (my exhusband wasn't there...). I absolutely adore my baby docs! With this pregnancy, I live and work a little further away, but am not willing at all to change docs, they are wonderful.

Everyone should feel that way about their doc! If you don't, you must find another... It makes your pregnancy so much easier
