What to expect at 5 weeks?

I have my first scan right on the day I get to 5 weeks. What would I expect the doctor to see? What types of questions should I have ready for him? What should I be looking out for?

at 5 weeks you probably wont see a hb yet so dont get worried if you dont. when i had a scan at 6weeks i didnt really see alot, just the flicker of the hb and the sac the baby was in. i hope everything goes well for you

Can I ask why you are having one so early? I had one last pg at just over 6 weeks and they said they would not expect to find a heartbeat but only see the sac and fetal pole

Im glad youve asked this, as I too hav an eaerly scan on Wed, altho, Im not sure of dates, I'll b anywhere between 6+2 and 8 weeks, due to an ectopic in Sept messing up my periods :s
Sorry to but in on your thread (hope you dont mind) but does any1 kno what I should expect?

u wont see much they will prob av u bk in a wk/2 hun, so dont worry...it be a internal scan aswell x

if ur 8wk...my avatar is my scan at 8wk1day, i still had an internal so they cud messure properly, i saw this little blob (head is at the bottom) a lovely HB and thats bout it ! if ur 6wk and a few days the HB wud prob b there aswell hun

Hope both your scans go well. I had a external scan at 7+4 weeks and saw the heartbeat and baby it was amazing. At 5 weeks I wouldn't expect a heartbeat but it should still be great. Take care

You'll probably only see the sac at 5 weeks. Yolk sac and HB aren't normally seen till 6 weeks, GOOD LUCK!!!!

I'm having one at 5 weeks because the doctor wants to make sure if it's one or two babies. I think he thought my HCG was a little higher on the day I did my blood work to confirm my pregnancy. So I was just wondering what I'll expect to be seeing.
