Is using a doppler too often dangerous?

Just as the title asks, I am 11 weeks and 2 days at the moment and I have heard that using a doppler too often could distress the baby, does anyone know if this is true?

I keep saying I will only use it sparingly and not become obsessed, but I am getting cramping, and stomach pains which are different every time almost every day, and feel I need the reassurance to hear the heartbeat. but then, I don;t want to harm the baby either

I always get it within a minute or 2 and never have it on that long, if this makes any difference?

The British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) says that there has never been any evidence of harm resulting from the use of ultrasound in pregnancy. Hand-held Dopplers work by using very low power levels, called continuous wave Doppler. This means they are safe to use over a long period. The CTG machines that midwives sometimes use in labour to monitor a baby’s heartbeat electronically work in the same way.

Hiya

Never heard it's dangerous but have heard it can agitate the baby and shouldn't be used more than once or twice a week... worth asking your midwife her opinion xx
