*SCAN UPDATE* Things arnt good- may have to have termination *UPDATE * Page 20

Hi ladies,

sorry i didnt get back on yesterday, but i went for my 12 week scan and got terrible news

I had the nuchal scan, baby has.... 7.30 of fluid behind neck
and over belly

I am deverstated and cannot stop crying.

I have another scan on monday and more bloods to check that baby or me have an infection which could be the cause, but the midwife said i could miscarry over the weekend, or the heart could stop beating
OH started crying when she said this, by this stage i was already in floods or tears.

So on monday we will be seeing a specialist and i will have a CVS test, i will have to wait at least 2 weeks for results.

I dont know what to do, its so hurtful, what i do to deserve this? I am 22 and this is my first pregnancy.

I will have to wait until Monday to see what happens next.
This happens to 1 in 1530 people under the age of 30, i guess i was just un-lucky.
After the cvs results i will decide what i want to do. If the results come back as non-downs or Edwards, there is a chance baby is fine, but midwife just gave me a straight NO when i asked if this maybe the case

God, i hope and pray they have it wrong.

Il update when i can.

Thanks,
Cal xxxx

Aww Cal, I was wondering how things had gone. I can't believe, its understandable you are feeling so down and wish I could give you a huge hug. So could an infection cause such a large amount of fluid? my fingers are crossed that this is the case but either way we are all here for you and will do all we can. I really hope and pray all goes well on Mondays. Im thinking of you all, take care XXXX

I'm sorry to hear that. Here's hoping that you have a really strong little bean in there and it will be fine.

You haven't done anything to deserve this chick, it's just a cruel twist of fate. There's nothing you could have done to prevent it, like you said, you've been unlucky.

I am really sorry to hear about your scan. I really hope that your baby is ok. As you say, it could just be an infection. Keep being brave.
