When do I book my first doctors appointment?


Hi guys,

Very newly preg and just wondering when I need to book in and see the doc. I booked an appointment for next Monday putting me at 4+4 is that okay or too early?

congratulations! i never saw the doc, i rang the doctors and they gave me mw number to contact her. everywhere is different though xx

Congratulations on your , 4+4 is not too early at all, they might want to do a test, though most doctors don't bother as HPT are so reliable. In some areas, ours being one it takes so long to get a booking appointment so the earlier you are referred to the midwives the better. I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy, Take care XX

I'm with Dizzy Duck. In my area it is really difficult to get a midwife appointment, so the earlier you go to the doctor, the more likely you are to get a mw appointment when you want.

I phoned my gp surgerythe day after i found out and asked what happens now, I was given a bokking in appointment for 23rd Dec when i'll be 6 weeks. It seems every area is different x

I never saw my doctor, i just rang my doctors surgery and asked them to arrange a midwife appointment and i first saw midwife at 6 weeks

Thanks ladies I don't feel so worried now, just hate wasting docs time. I'll keep the appointment and then they can let me know what goes on from there. I want to talk about having asthma and being preg so can do that at the same time.
