Midwife dates v early scan dates

Hi

I had my booking appointment today and midwife put me a 9w2d which I think is wrong. She used LMP which were really eratic as I just stopped pill and had pos ov 5 days after af started!

Anyway I had early scan due to pains and was 5w6d then which would make me 11w today.

Anyway for those that have had mw edd, and a scan which date was more accurate you mw's estimate or scan?

I have another scan in 2 weeks so will know for sure but am convinced she is wrong. Anyone?

Hi hun....when it comes to MW or early scan i dont know....

...Most people go from there 12 weeks dating scan (altho i have read on here of a few peoples MW's not wanting to use that!)

If your not regular at all id go with what ever your 12 week scan tells you and until then go with the one that feels right to you xxxxxx

Ive only had a scan and no mw apmt yet so i might be useless answering this. I was however put back nearly 2 weeks and was told opk's arent 100% in predicting ov and conception can happen later than you think (duh..i thought..anyway) She did also tell me scans at an early stage have a 4 day window of error either way. Going by what people say online it can be spectacularly wrong sometimes..but that doesnt answer your question. Sorry, lol!

hi, i had edd from lmp of 7/6/09, i had a scan at 9w due to a scare and edd changed to 11/6/09, then i had dating scan at 12w and they moved me forward to 6/6/09. they usually go off lmp date until the dating scan. hope this makes sense? xx

The 12 wk scan will be the most acurate so hold tight for 2wks

I had early scan wed, by LMP should have been 9w 5d, scan showed 8w 2d, but midwife said we are sticking to my LMP dates until the 12 week scan which is much more accurate apparently, but she also said EDD can be moved throughout pregnancy, for example if at 12 week scan baby measures 12 weeks then they use relevant date, but if at say 20 week scan baby measures 21 or 22 weeks which she said can happen they move you forward. HTH a little x
