scan today fetal pole measuring 5+6 but it cant be right!

Hi after spotting and pain I had a scan which thankfully showed a fetal pole and a heart beat. They measured it at 5+6 but I know I am 6+6 as only had sex the once on a very regualr 28 day cycle, and by thier dates I would have got a pos HPT at 4 DPO which is impossibe. SHe says the measurements are accurate but im wondering how accurate they are? has anyone been put back on an early scan and later found it to be wrong?

I know it doesn't matter as Im just pleased there was a heartbeat and all is well, but it makes me question is all really well, as I know I have not conceived when they say!!!!! or maybe the baby is not growing properly, any input i would appreciate

i don't know hun but i had my scan yesterday and im 6+4 and they dated me 6+2, said it was nothing to worry about, i don;t understand though how that can be, hopefully someonw else might have the answers for you x

i got put back 2 weeks on my first scan with charlie! i didnt even think that was possible i told them a million times i couldnt have got pregnant 2 weeks before the dates i worked out but they had non of it! anyway needless to say when i started getting a bump at 30 weeks i mesured 32, 32 mesured 34, 34 mesured 36...you get the point i was 2 weeks bigger than i should have been all along!!

Thanks, I dont understand how they think they are so sure!! even on the internet it says +/- 7 days! when was that early scan you had zara? we would like to call ours charlie!!

My scan wasnt an early scan it was just a regular dating scan i thought i was going to be 11 weeks they they put me back to 9 weeks but it just didnt make any sence if there mesurements were right then i got my BFP when i was only one week pregnant..its just not right!

p.s Charlies a great name hehehe

Hi hun,
I cant think who now but i have read a post by someone on 1st tri who was put back a week or so at a early scan and then put forwards again at the 12 week one

I was told that very early scans arnt always accurate and that you have to wait until 12 weeks to really know but im not sure.

Im really glad there was a heart beat and everything looked ok tho hun xxxx

Im sorry you we told this at your scan, I had a scan last week and was expecting to be told I was 6 weeks 6 days and was actually 7 weeks 4 days so I don't know how they do it. I so pleased all is okay though. Take care

with my daughter katie they put me from 13 wks to 9 meaning I wasnt preggers at all when i got bfp ! then she was born according to them 37 +6 and she was dry and bleedin then the midwife sed she looked overdue x

If you have a heartbeat I wouln't worry. Esp. since you still have to allow for human error on scans. Congrats..
