Hiding booze consumption

hmmmm...

we are the first couple in our whole group of mates to have a baby.

how do we keep it a secret when we go out and I can't drink? I'm always the first to buy a round...

At the moment I am asking OH for 'vodka' and lemonade - he knows that's just lemonade. might move onto 'vodka' and orange.. hmmmm

what excuses have you used?

I will also be having this problem very soon but I am still breastfeeding so I can use that as a good excuse. You could say you are nursing a hangover, or that you are on a detox before christmas or you other half could order the soft drink cos he is 'driving' and you could swap? You could be designated driver? xxxxxx

when I was sick last week, i didn't go to a coupleof things and Mr P did say - Pickle's under the weather.... didn't think of that!

I can't do the D Driver thing as I don't drive and we don't have a car!

Saying you are on Antibiotics is a good one as you can't drink on those!!

You can also switch to grape juice, pass it off as wine and whatnot. The antibiotics is a good idea too.

When I was trying to hide it I just told my friends that I wasn't feeling very well and had a headache. Most of them understood that booze + headache doesn't exactly mean a party night.

only gotta wait until 22nd Dec (that's when we are announcing) but we're REALLY social...
grape juice is a good one...

And you know what? they won't be looking for it will they? so they may not notice, just thinking about when they buy rounds!

can you say your on a diet? One of my friends said that she poss had IBS and was seeing if alcohol was the cause, the only prob with antibotics your only normally on them for a week.

When i was having ds i used to say i had UTI, and that drinking alcohol made peeing more painful, usually the TMI killed the questions dead. Detoxing for christmas is a good one. It'll soon be time to tell and you can enjoy your lemonade in peace lol xxx
