tylenol is all we're allowed. i looked up safefetus.com to see if advil was okay and it listed everything it can do to the baby. tylenol is the safe bet.

Tylenol is a brand name for Acetaminophen....same as what we call Paracetamol in the UK.

Paracetamol is the ONLY advised painkiller in pregnancy, but as with anything best avoided unless necessary.

Aspirin and Ibuprofen both contra-indicated in pregnancy with potential birth defects or increased possibility of m/c, so avoid those.

Also becareful cos a lot of painkillers have quite high doses of caffeine too. Plain old OTC paracetamol is def your best bet.

I've also tried using an icepack on my neck and then some heat...rotating back and forth about 5 mins of each. Sometimes it works!

I would buy the shops own make of paracetamol a) it's cheaper and b) all that is in it is paracetamol if you get annadin or whatever then often has other stuff thrown in!

But would still avoid it when possible!!

Hope it eases soon!
