Hey ladies

Just had a letter through from the hospital to go in for blood tests and a 12 week scan - but nothing about meeting the midwives or anything else. Is this the normal way of things? I thought I would get to talk to someone about the pregnancy and what happens.

Just wondered if any of you by passed any formal booking in and were just sent for tests etc?

When i first met my midwife, all she done was take my blood pressure and bloods, so maybe the midwifes are all busy so the doc is just going to do it ?

Im sure you'll get a mw appoint. through soon , it is usually about 8 weeks

First MW apointment is hi, bounty pack & bloods ...UK! I would call the number on your later and ask - the MW may have her appointments in the hospital?

17 weeks Caz? Thats not right - have you had your bloods taken? If your GP has not referred you to the MW then I'd ring or at least check up!

i had my booking in appointment at 11 weeks, forms, fam history, bloods

i am having my future ones at my gp surgery she is there twice a month its more convenient and i can arrange to see her wen i want not at set intervals

give yr gp a cal and see if they offer the same

it possibly means that you'll meet the mw when u have your blood taken. You're not missing out on much anyway tbh, as wobbles said it's literally a hi, how u gettin on? Bounty pack, bloods and urine. U prob won't even see the same mw again.

Bounty pack? Does that mean you get Bounty bars LOL? I will pop back to the UK for the weekend if so!!

We don't get any midwife appts over here. We get a typed page of instructions on how to give birth!

I was told by my doctor that mw in my area are visiting at 12 weeks (same as scan)!
