Midwife appointments

hi all

wondered if u could clear something up for me!

ive had numerous scans and dr appointments so far due to previous probs and one ante natal with the midwife at the county hospital two weeks ago at 11 weeks

now whats the norm with ante natal every 4 weeks?

wondered as midwife said ast appointment was just paperwork mainly and bloods which they screwed up (they were abbled with only half my surname and the lab refused to test them!) she didnt try to hear babies heart beat or anything?

obviously i have seen heart beat on last 3 scans but i would still like to hear it!"

lil rant over phew hehe tia
xx

no one tried to find the heartbeat till 15 weeks. I think its because it might be hard to pick up early on and you would be so upset if you didnt hear one and it wouldnt mean anything was wrong. I had booking in at 12 weeks, and then a scan, and then another a month after the scan so yeah, midwife appts every month and not alot before 12 weeks.

thank you

basically i was supposed to see my consultant y'day but he wasnt there they left me in the waiting room for two hours before pulling me aside to find out why i was there!!

i was then told tht i didnt need to see a dr/consultant as if i was going to misscarry i would anyway especialy as my treatment started late..

she said no pint scanning till 20 weeks sod off!

i explained tht the main hospital (this was the county hospital associated with it) have booked me a 16 week scan through epu etc she said dont know whyt there bothering...

i then asked her wen i will see the midwife next (regular ante natal) and she said 20 weeks

i didnt think this was right so wanted to check

have spoken to the epu at main hospital and they are furious i was in tears

the smaller hospitals don't seem to be as good with scanning to be honest, I had a bleed while in wales, they told me to rest and take a pregnancy test in 4 days.I went home to the city and told my doctor and they gave me a scan straight away, to check everything was ok.
