Belly and back sleeping isnt good while pregnant. Side sleeping specially the side of youre heart is ther best.

I had horrible shoulder pain all day on my birthday, I must have been 21 weeks then, it was agonising, still unsure of what it was though. Hope it eases up for you x

I had shoulder pain for a few weeks in first tri - was right beneath my shoulder blade and was worse when I was sat down for a long time. Probably something to do with how I was sitting and sleeping and my body being extra tired. Mention it to the MW, but dont panic - especially if they have ruled out ectopic.

Aww hun

Have you mentioned it to your dr or mw yet?

I've got aching shoulders but it's because I'm sleeping so much (and I always lay on my side)

Good plan seeing your doc - no point in you worrying and being sore when someone can do something about it. If it's muscular, massage or local application of cold or heat often help. Lung problems can also cause pain in the chest area and if your cold has spread to the chest (unlikely unless you're coughing up yucky yellow/green/brown spit from the chest) that can irritate the sac around the lungs and cause pain breathing in/sniffing. Much less likely, but blood clots are more common in pregnancy and are may get stuck in the small blood vessels in the lungs and can cause similar pain. On balance, a muscle ache is the most likely thing but definitely mention the pain on sniffing to your doctor so they can exclude anything else. Lie on your back if you feel better that way - at this stage it is very unlikely to do anything to your insides - in later pregnancy if you lie on your back the inferior vena cava, the big vein running from the pelvis to the chest, can be compressed by baby and cause problems but at the moment just sleep in whatever position is comfiest
