Contact with midwife

Hi Ladies

At what point does the midwife contact you? I went to the doctors a week last Friday. The doctor said that he would write to the midwife and then she would contact me.

It works different for us over here. We contact midwife so I cant help. Hope someone can though hun.

hi rumpskin i went to my doctors when i was just over 4 weeks and i had my first contact with my midwife when i was about 8/9 weeks hope this helps.

i had my 1st contact woth MW after my 12 week scan if i remember right, only thing i had b4 that was my booking in appointment bu tthat was with a nurse x

I seen mr dr to confirm i was pregnant about 4 weeks then dint see my midwife till i was 11+ weeks, im still waiting 4 a scan date to come through think its different every were x

Hey Rumpskin,

I went to docs to tell him I was pregnant at 5 weeks, I then had to go back a week later at 6 weeks for a double appointment for booking in. He then wrote to midwife and sent my info to them. I got a letter a few days ago to say my 1st appointment is when I will be 11 weeks(I dont kknow if this is later for me as I will be away from 8 weeks until 11 weeks)

Also waiting for my scan date which gets sent direct from hospital.

i had my 1st contact at my booking in at 7 weeks she even came to the house to do it, she has retired now though so this time might be different.

Hi there

When i had my daughter i went to docs to tell them at 6 wks and had booking in appointment with midwife at 8 weeks which she did at my home, then i only saw her at 15 weeks, 20 weeks, 36 wks and when i was a week overdue. not a lot to be honest, it varies wherever you live in the country so you would probably get a more definate answer from someone who lives near to you, good luck with your pregnancy! x

Saw GP at 4 weeks, MW had called by 6 weeks, booking in was 8 weeks
