12 wk nuchal scan

Just wanted to post that we had our nuchal scan today and our risk of having a downs syndrome baby has gone from 1 in 74 to 1 1460 as we have had bloods done and they did all measurements on baby and all looked good. So we have had a brill day baby is due on 15 march 09 he/she was very lively it was wonderful to finally see it has made it all* so real nowxx

How do you know if you should go or not. My doctor asked me if I wanted it done because I am 28 now. I thought it was only in the 30s?

Over 35 is high risk. Under 35 is certainly not.

I think they offer it to everyone. I'm 19 and my midwife kind of recommended it as its just part of the scan now i think? Your scan pics look really clear for 12 weeks. Good luck xx

In Canada I know it is routine to ask. My friend was 18 when she was pregnant and they took the blood for that test on her.
I wouldn't worry.
