I think folic acid is the one thing medical people really insist you take hun, and you're right, it's incredibly difficult to get the amount reccommended for a pregnant woman from your diet alone. What kind of reaction have you had towards it? Even of it makes you feel a bit sick I'd definately still take it sweetie - the chance of having a baby born with spina bifida is greatly reduced if you do.

I also take the asda one... has exact same as pregnacare but its 2 for £4!

I will be swapping to the pregnacare with omega 3 once these are finished with.

Folic acid is a must! I also take it after breakfast and it seems ok then

I was taking folic acid a few month before ttc, when I found out I was pregnant I started taking a pregnancy multi vit(tescos own brand)

When I was at the docs yesterday I got a card with info on folic acid

Rich Sources of Folic acid(more than 100mcg per serving)
breads fortified with folic acid, brussel sprouts, spinach, asparagus and black eyed peas.

Good Sources (51-100mcg per serving)
peas, cabbage, cauliflower, green beans, broccoli, iceberg lettuce and chickpeas.

Moderate sources(15-50mcg per serving)
potatos, most fruits and nuts, brown rice, oats, bran and baked beans.

Maybe if you could work a few of them into your diet too it would boost you intake?

Emma.xx
