I'm Currently Feeling: | when did you get your first set of bloods done? Hi Girls,
i was at midwife yesterday for booking in appointment and she took weight, bp and height, copied down my notes past pg history etc but didnt do anything else other than send a urine sample away, told me she would send for my 12 weeks scan within next 2/3 weeks and would see me in 7 weeks which makes me 17 weeks and i wont have had any bloods taken until then, which is seriously concerning me as i wanted the ones done for downs and spina bifida, plus i had anemia with previous pregnancies, when did everyone else get theirs and am i just being a worry guts? it just seems so much more laid back since i had my last one 2 years ago...... I kinda feel like ive been left too it so to speak. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Guess everywhere is different - they tried to take mine at the booking in appointment when I was about 8 1/2 weeks, managed to get one lot then my vein collapsed because I was a wimp and panicked!
The midwife said they'd get the rest at about 12 weeks when they do a home visit here.
If I was you I'd probably be demanding them as 17 weeks does seem a little late but that's just my opinion. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had mine done at my booking in appointment at 8 weeks. She took 5 different vialls of blood!
Why was she sending a urine sample off? I've not come across that before.. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had my bloods taken at my first mw appointment yesterday, she didn't take a urine sample though which I thought was a bit odd she told me to bring one to my next appointment in 7 weeks. I am being tested for downs at my 12 weeks scan.
Seeing as you have had anemia I would push for your bloods to be done before 17 weeks. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had my booking in appointment with the midwife at 11 weeks and at that point she gave me a letter with my 12 week scan date on (altohugh I was 13 weeks at time of scan) at the point I had my first lot of bloods taken after scan. Went round to the womens out patients and then went back to collect results.
I suppose each hospital is different. My hospital don't have a blood testing department for womens out patients so I have to go to another hospital. I was around 17 weeks when they gave me the results.
