ANyone already had more than 1 c-section?

Hi girls. My GP said that it is possible that i will be able to give birth naturally rather than having a section this time - but I have been googling and it pretty much says that after 2 sections that it is impossble to give birth naturally. Has anyone had 2 sections and then gone on to have a natural? i would really prefer to do it naturally - but think i am getting my hopes up for no reason.

what reasons did they give hun if you don't mind me asking? i have just found a site that says it is still safe to have a VBAC but the risks are slightly higher. I don't want to put myself or baby in any danger - but would like to have a trial of labour just to see - if i have to have a section then i would be happier to say i'd tried.

The only risk a VBAC Holds is scar rupture

The most commonly quoted rate of caesarean scar rupture is 0.5% or one in 200 VBAC labours, the vast majority of which are benign (causing no problems for either mother or baby). Serious complications of caesarean scar rupture are very rare.

All pregnancies carry risks and serious, potentially life-threatening problems could arise during the labour of any woman. For instance umbilical cord prolapse has been estimated to have a 1% incidence3, double that of caesarean scar rupture, yet this potential danger is not continually picked out with the same degree of emphasis that is given to the lesser risk of serious caesarean scar rupture. Indeed many pregnant women pass an entire pregnancy without it once being mentioned. It seems invidious to single out the very small additional risk of the uterine scar for special scare tactics and one has to question the reasons for this.

You have the right to go for a VABC if you, its not the law and they can't make you do it.

I think ur looking in the wrong place to research, i have loads of stuff plus there loads of books out there two i have 2 coming too. i'll Pm u with the stuff i have its long lol

Plus there are Yahoo groups, i.e VBAC group. Midwifery group which midwife do go on and u can post there.

xxxxx

Hiya, i will be having my 4th section soon.
When i was having my 2nd, they wanted me to go natural, but i was soo scared i was having nightmares that it would all go wrong again.
When i went in for my 3rd, i dident get the option (though tbh id have gone for a section) they just said i had to have a section.
I think its because they want as safe delivery as possible, safe for both mum and baby. They dont want things to go wrong, its not good for you, baby, or them.
You should have a chat with your midwife to see if there is any possible way you can try a normal labour.

Its not because they want a safe delivery its because they don't trust womens body!!!

scar rupture when serious is very rare!! what i posted wasn't something i made up, its hard facts that people spend time researching.
