First midwife appt tomorrow and I have a question :)

Just wondering if she will take a doppler to me so I can hear the heartbeat? This will be my first time seeing her as I have already been to a doctor a few weeks back but didn't like her. I know she will do the whole questions about health, etc etc but she said its going to be about an hour long appt so we can ask lots of questions and such..so just wondering if maybe she will let us hear the heartbeat?

Tell her your concerns and I'm sure she will be happy to get the doppler on you to reassure you!

I had my first appointment yesterday with my midwife and she didint do much to be honest other than copy the notes id had to write up before i went and she took my bp height and weight and then told me she'd see me in 7 weeks didnt take a doppler to hear baby or nothing, think it depends on where you are as to what they are willing to do, but all in all think they do very little to reassure us pg ladies im on bubs 5 and you certainly get less care than u did a few years back........

They probably don't do it, cos it's so hard to find the heartbeat so early on that's why most ppl who buy dopplers have to be 12-14 weeks first, prob don't do it cos its very unlikely it will be able to be found without spending time on it and they don't want people to worry for no reason.
