OH and I have decided we would like an early scan done to make sure everything is going fine with the baby...

We thought we would like to get one about 8 weeks and 3 or 4 days. Right after our wedding but before we head off on honeymoon. Then we get back when I will be about 11 weeks as we only get a 12/13 week scan in our hospital.

Just wondering if anyone here has had one at around 8 weeks there is much to see??

The earliest i had one was around 10 weeks is and i saw a lil bit, just enough to tell a head from a body and some stalky things for arms/legs i couldnt really tell lol

I had an early scan at 5+4 and a sac and heartbeat was detected, it was only measuring 2.01mm, but everyone is different

Hi Hun , I went for a private scan at 8 weeks , To check everything was ok .
I saw baby , Heart beat , Little arm buds , Leg buds , Head ....
Was everything i didnt expect to see at that stage but was there .

I have included a pic , 8 weeks taken about 4 weeks ago .

Ive had loads of scans due to bledding and the 1s few i seen nothing. I tought i was having another blighted ovum as there was nothing in the sac for ages. I had to wait 10 days and then at 7 weeks a baby and heartbeat was found. phheeewwwwwwwwwww. They put me back 2 weeks. So at 8 weeks u will definatly see something

I had one at 8 + 4 and saw a little bean, you could distinguish the head from the body and see little leg buds. The heart beating was the most important thing for us and you should be able to see it by then. I would have the scan, it was the best thing we did and would recommend it to anyone, that wait to 12 weeks is a nightmare and getting that reassurance at 8 weeks was wonderful
Hope you have a lovely wedding, go ahead with the scan and you'll have some beautiful pictures to take on honeymoon with you and will be so much more relaxed

If you can hold on to your pennies enjoy wedding and honeymoon i'd keep them spare pennies for a 4d x

I would agree with Wobbs though, if you can save your pennies and have one later on, i had a 2d one at 16wks and it was amazing, sooooo detailed!!

I had a private scan at just over 8 weeks and it was so worth it. We saw quite a lot and it actually made it more real for us, we could see the distinguised head, body and little arms developing as well as the heart beating.
