Flying while pregnant

I am thinking of going away at christmas time, I think by then I will be about 30 weeks. Only going to France for a big family holiday. Would I still be able to fly at this stage of pregnancy?

Thanks xx

I think its up to the airline but i'm pretty sure you can't fly without a doctors note after 20 weeks. x

It depends on the airline. But British Airways won't let you fly after 28 weeks without a doctors note.
If you're in the UK you could always take Eurostar.

I would find out from your insurance company to see what week they insure you up to and also what the airlines policy is.

I know when I went on holiday the airline wouldn't accept any pregnant ladies over 28 weeks so better check before you book!

Hi!!! I work for a travel agent and most of the charter airlines will only accept you after 28 weeks(on date of return) if you have a doctors letter to say you are fit to fly! Some scheduled airlines(eg BA or British Midland) are up to 34 weeks on return but you need to check the policy of the airline. Long haul destinations are earlier than that.
You need to let your insurance company know that you are pregnant and if you have no complications that should be fine...

I flew to Ibiza when I was 22 weeks with Charlie (24 on the way back), and was told my the travel agent that I'd need a doctors note. So £20 later, I have my note, and when I booked in, they said they didn't need it!

Most airlines won't fly you past, I think it's 30 weeks, because they aren't insured for you! I would definately check with the airline though. I wouldn't but that's because of the increased risk of DVT that stops me when pregnant.

Chance of a holiday would be a fine thing anyway lol
