I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks everyone, had a couple of days to get to grips with it. My HCg was 60,000 at the 8w 3d scan and last wed at the 9w 3d it was revealed that they had dropped to 23,000. Sigh.
Of course, been waiting all weekend for miscarriage to start and nothing, not a dickey bird! Can't believe my body is still going along thinking it's pregnant!
I'm going back next wednesday for one last look before I schedule the D&C just to be certain there isn't a miracle going on in there. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm going back next wednesday for one last look before I schedule the D&C just to be certain there isn't a miracle going on in there. | LATEST UPDATE:
The strangest thing, went in today to talk about natural miscarriage vs D&C, spent the last few days getting to grips with it all and felt ready. No sign of miscarriage. I'm now 10wks and 5 days according to lmp.
Remember the first scan at eight weeks showed sac and maybe yolk sac, the second scan at 9wks and 5 days showed empty sac only and hcg went from 60,000 to 23,000 but progesterone holding steady at good levels. At the second scan I was told to schedule D & C and/or to go home and wait to miscarry. He seemed to think yolk sac had been re-absorbed. Anyway, he said 95% blighted ovum. So of course, had to deal with it.
Well today, there was a fetus!!!! Blew my mind. He did another ultrasound to see how the cyst was doing as it was huge last week. While there he saw the 'empty' sac but this time it wasn't empty! Couldn't find heartbeat though but he said there was no explanation for what he was seeing, he was baffled and said that this is a big puzzle to him. Fetus measuring at just 7 weeks.
For that reason, we're waiting yet one more week to see if by some sheer miracle we detect a heartbeat next week. Oh the emotional rollercoaster ride of it all!
Of course cancelled the D & C I had for planned for monday.
Isn't this the weirdest thing!!! I know Porkpie had a similiar experience!
One thing the doctor did say was sometimes there are no explanations for how things turn out and though he can't explain to me why a fetus is in there now, he does know I no longer have a blighted ovum! | | | | Status: Offline
